Five picks from a superb Sunday
The weekend’s football may be drawing to a close, but Sunday’s schedule offers an excellent batch of fixtures.
Manchester City host Arsenal, before Chelsea welcome Manchester United and former boss Jose Mourinho to Stamford Bridge.
Both of those games feature in today’s Coral acca, as does the Tees-Wear derby and two selections from Serie A.
Place a £5 wager on this afternoon’s five-fold, and if all selections come in, you could win £125.20. All prices and returns correct at time of writing.
Man City to beat Arsenal
It’s not that Arsenal are playing badly right now, the Gunners are doing just fine.
But Manchester City are arguably the best team in Europe right now, let alone the Premier League.
Plus, Pep Guardiola’s side are at home and have had an extra 24 hours to recover.
They’re a solid punt at 1/2 to continue their incredible run.
Chelsea v Man United – Draw
It’s a Jose Mourinho side away at top-six opposition, so this should go true to form.
The Manchester United boss is likely to prepare for a draw and take it from there.
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte will be desperate to see a performance from his side following a dismal night in Rome.
But United are fiendishly difficult to break down. Chelsea fans will know full well how Mourinho likes to set up his stall.
Chelsea need to bounce back, but this isn’t the game to allow them to do that. The draw is the best option at 21/10.
Middlesbrough to beat Sunderland
So often it’s a bad idea to back against a side who have just lost their manager.
But given Sunderland’s problems in recent times, it seems the manager may not be the issue.
That won’t worry Middlesbrough, who are picking up speed following a mediocre start to the season.
Garry Monk’s men have won two on the spin, and their squad is vastly superior to their North East rivals. Boro to win the Tees-Wear derby is a great addition to the Coral acca at 4/6.
Roma to beat Fiorentina
Having thrashed Chelsea in midweek, Roma now head to Fiorentina.
The Florence outfit have already lost five times this season, but it’s Roma’s away record which stands out.
Eusebio di Francesco has guided his side to four away wins from four. In that time they’ve netted eight goals without conceding a single strike.
The impregnable Roman defence has conceded just two goals in their last eight Serie A games.
Fiorentina are a good side, but Roma are a better one. Plus they’re on a massive high after their excellent midweek performance, and are a handy 27/20 to boost today’s acca.
Napoli to beat Chievo
Staying in Italy with Napoli’s trip to Chievo.
Gli Azzurri are playing some sensational football this season, and gave Manchester City two epic encounters in the Champions League.
But rest assured, Napoli’s main aim this season is Serie A glory.
They’ve won six from six on the road this season, and their sensational attacking powers will surely be too much for a Chievo side which has already conceded ten times at home.
The team from Naples are a solid acca enhancer at 4/11.
