Five selections from tonight’s UEL action

The Europa League is back in action tonight with 24 fixtures being played across Thursday evening.

Arsenal and Everton are the two British representatives for tonight’s games.

The Coral News Team have crunched the numbers, examined the data, and rustled up a number of standout selections.

Stake £5 on this five-fold accumulator and if they all come in, you could win £97.10. Prices and returns correct at the time of writing.

Koln to beat Crvena Zvezda

This is one of Koln’s biggest nights in over two decades of the club’s history. They will host their first Europa League game in 25 years.

The Bundesliga club has had a rough time of it domestically this season. They are rocket-bottom of the league.

However, the Billy Goats are living for these European games. The RheinEnergieStadion will be absolutely rocking.

Crvena Zvezda – or Red Star Belgrade as they’re commonly known – have won just one of their last seven Europa League games.

The 4/6 on Koln to win gets this acca off to a confident start.

Zenit St Petersburg to beat Real Sociedad

The Russian Premier League leaders are incredibly strong at home, domestically and in Europe.

In 41 UEFA Cup and Europa League games, Roberto Mancini’s side have lost just two times. That record stretches all the way back to 2002.

Real Sociedad are in the midst of a poor run, losing their last three fixtures.

Their previous game in this competition ended in an early exit to another Russian side, Krasnodar, in a 3-0 defeat.

That makes Zenit at 6/5 our second selection.

Arsenal to beat BATE Borisov

Arsene Wenger’s side travels to Belarus looking to make it two wins from two in Group H.

BATE are winless in their last five Europa League games at home. Arsenal are unbeaten in five matches and have kept a clean sheet in four of those.

The Gunners will likely rotate but any side Wenger decides to start should be good enough to get a result here.

At 4/9, the North London outfit are in as our third pick.

Villarreal to beat Maccabi Tel Aviv

Villarreal are a staple of this competition. The Yellow Submarine are perennial group participants and regularly make it to the latter stages.

Javi Calleja takes charge of the La Liga club for the first time after Fran Escriba’s sacking last weekend.

Maccabi do have a decent home record in Europa League games but failed to make it out of the group last year, finishing third.

With a new manager bounce, Villarreal at even-money are the fourth inclusion in this Coral acca.

Hoffenheim to beat Ludogorets

While Ludogorets have more recent European pedigree than Hoffenheim, the Bundesliga high-flyers will fancy their chances here.

Julian Nagelsmann’s side are currently second in the domestic table, sandwiched between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich.

Ultimately Die Kraichgauer weren’t good enough to get past Liverpool in the Champions League qualifiers. But there are levels in football, and this will be a game they should be good enough to get three points from.

Hoffenheim at 5/6 complete this accumulator.
