Wins for Bundesliga duo on the cards

Wednesday night sees another selection of top ties as Europe’s elite do battle in the Champions League.

Porto to beat Besiktas

The Turkish side should prove easy pickings for 8/15 shots Porto.

Sergio Conceicao’s men have won their first five games of the season without conceding a goal, while Kara Kartallar have had a patchy start to the campaign – including a surprise Super Cup loss to Konyaspor.

It’s the Portuguese hosts who also boast the more impressive UCL record of the pair. Dragoes have won nine of their past 14 home games in this competition, including a 5-0 mauling of Leicester City last term.

As for Besiktas, they exited in the Group Stage in 2016-17, having won a single game, losing their final match 6-0 away to Dinamo Kiev.

Borussia Dortmund to beat Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs’ Wembley woes show no sign of ending, with defeat to Chelsea and a draw against Burnley at their temporary home so far this term. As for BvB, they’re flying high right now – and thumped VfL Wolfsburg 3-0 on the road a few weeks back.

The visitors’ away record in Europe is also mightily impressive. They drew 2-2 at Real Madrid in last year’s Group Stage, winning their other two away games at this stage, against Sporting CP (2-1) and Legia Warsaw (6-0).

With all that in mind, it’s something of a shock to see Peter Bosz’s men as long as 2/1 to inflict another Wembley defeat on Mauricio Pochettino’s side. That makes this game an unmissable acca booster.

RB Leipzig to beat Monaco

Perhaps no side in world football saw their side weakened more than Les Monegasques during the Summer transfer window. Bernardo Silva, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Benjamin Mendy and Kylian Mbappe all exited Stade Louis II, and none have been adequately replaced.

As for Die Bullen, they’ve retained their key men and brought in several more top talents. That’s reflected by their start to the season, with a 2-0 victory at Hamburg last time out.

They may be first timers in Europe, but there’s every reason to believe Leipzig will win this – especially in front of a packed house at Red Bull Arena.

Maribor to beat Spartak Moscow

In short, Spartak just don’t win away from home. The Russian side are great on their own patch, but have won just three of the past 15 games on their travels. However, they’re currently reaching new lows on the road, losing 5-1 at 10-man Zenit St. Petersburg last month.

As for Maribor, they’re strong on their own patch, and won both of their home European games last season – beating Qabala and Aberdeen to nil, respectively. This might be a close-run thing, but the Slovenian side – priced up at 16/5 – have enough to edge this clash.

Real Madrid to beat APOEL

Real have enjoyed victory in 12 of their last 13 home games in this competition, while APOEL have won none of their 11 away games in the UCL proper. The question isn’t really whether Los Blancos will win, but how many they’ll win by.

As a standalone bet, the 1/18 for a Madrid win would pay back a pittance. However, with a victory for Zinedine Zidane’s men nigh-on certain, it’s a nice little addition to this acca.
