Five picks from the European action

It’s the second batch of Champions League play-off first-legs, and Coral customers can once again get stuck in to the midweek acca action. Celtic lead the British contingent this time around, as the Bhoys host Kazakhstan champions Astana.

Tonight’s five fixtures have been given a thorough going-over by Coral’s football anoraks and they’ve supplied their best bets.

Let’s crack on with tonight’s five-fold…

Celtic to beat Astana

Kicking off in Glasgow, where Brendan Rodgers and his Celtic side face familiar opposition in Astana. The pair met 12 months ago, albeit one round earlier. This year however the Bhoys have the away leg second, meaning they need to make hay in the opening contest at Celtic Park. Rodgers will be acutely aware of that and so a 2/5 home win gets the acca underway.

Hapoel Be’er Sheva v Maribor – Draw

Moving on to Israel and a Hapoel Be’er Sheva side who have held their own in recent years when it comes to European competition. The hosts have avoided defeat in 30 of their last 34 home games, and that includes the visits of Celtic, Southampton and Inter. On the flip side, is that Maribor are on a decent run of their own, going seven unbeaten. So this looks like an acca-boosting draw at 13/5.

Sevilla to beat Istanbul Basaksehir

The Coral gurus are going against the formbook for this one in Turkey. Istanbul Basaksehir are unbeaten in 25 on their home patch, but this is Sevilla they’re up against.

Few sides are as experienced as the Europa League kingpins when it comes to handling knock-out contests, so it’s an away win here at 6/5.

Napoli to beat Nice

Nice are yet to impress this season, failing to win their last four games. And the French side haven’t got much confidence on the road, winning just one of their last seven competitive away games.

Napoli may have won just one of their last four Champions League games at home, but they’re a fine side and a solid inclusion for tonight’s bet at 2/7.

Olympiakos to beat Rijeka

Champions League regulars Olympiakos are looking for another shot at being a fan favourite away day to Athens in the group stages.

The Greek domestic season is yet to begin, while opponents Rijeka are five games in, but the Croatian side shouldn’t pose a threat.

They’re suffered a couple of defeats in recent weeks, so it’s another home win at 4/7 with Coral to round off the five-fold.
