Thursday’s £5 World Cup Qualifiers acca pays over £125
Six picks from the across the WCQ action
Qualification for the 2018 World Cup kicks back into gear across the various continents on Thursday with 18 games throughout the day.
The Coral News team have gone with six savvy picks from what looks a difficult-looking fixture list.
Placing a £5 stake on the following could lead to a payout of £125.95. Prices and returns mentioned are correct at the time of writing.
Let’s get this six-fold going…
South Korea to beat Iran
We’re banking on South Korea to get this acca off to the best possible start with a win against Iran at 4/6.
Iran have already qualified so could send a fringe team out, while the South Koreans have installed a new coach in Shin Tae-Yong. He’ll be looking for that ‘new manager’ bounce here.
Bulgaria to draw with Sweden
Bulgaria performed magnificently to beat the Netherlands 2-0 at home in their last group game and will be in flying form.
Sweden top the group at present but will be more than happy to take a point in Sofia against an ever-improving Bulgarian side under Petar Hubchev.
The draw is currently 9/4.
Hungary to beat Latvia
Another Eastern European side that has improved over the last few years is Hungary.
The Magical Magyars are currently third in Group B behind Switzerland and Portugal and will need a win to keep pace.
Thankfully, Latvia are winless in their last three away games. The 3/10 about the Hungary win sounds justified.
Bosnia to beat Cyprus
Cyprus are no walkover at home but Bosnia should have too much quality here, reflected in their price of 4/9 to win.
With the likes of Edin Dzeko and Miralem Pjanic to call upon, Mehmed Baždarević will be confident of all three points.
France to beat Netherlands
France take on the Netherlands at the Stade de France looking to get back on track.
Despite a loss to Sweden in their last group game, Didier Deschamps has arguably the strongest squad in world football right now.
Current odds of 1/2 for the home win are about right.
Colombia to beat Venezuela
Colombia currently lay second in South American World Cup qualifying and take on Venezuela in San Cristóbal.
Radamel Falcao and co. have been in superb form throughout qualifying and will be confident of victory against a Venezuelan team rooted to the foot of the table.
Odds of 8/13 seem generous given the circumstances.
