Selection in every race at Ripon
With an enjoyable weekend of horse racing in the books, headlined by Lancelot Du Lac’s upset in the Stewards Cup at Goodwood on Saturday, we’re back to earth with a competitive Monday schedule to get the week moving.

Snap Shots won this last year
Concentrating on the seven at Ripon, a 6f fillies’ novice stakes starts us off at 2.15pm and we give a selection in every race at the North Yorkshire track, with Clubbable backed in the first. Our bet of the day goes in the fourth, the Armstrong Memorial Handicap. A six-furlong affair, there’s 11 runners expected to post and we’re on the best of them.
Trainer Tony Coyle and Barry McHugh join forces on Snap Shots, and that looks to be a winning partnership. The experienced five-year-old gelding has already proven his worth, arriving as a previous course and distance winner, taking this very race 12 months ago. Connections will fancy themselves as being more than capable of banking the £12,000+ prize pot again on Monday.
Overdue a rub of the green
Snap Shots hasn’t been seen in the winner’s enclosure since taking the 2016 version, but he arrives in decent form, and has been knocking on the door of late, his stats this year showing three placed efforts from five starts, each of those coming in his last four goes. The NAP was runner up at the Curragh last month, beaten a ½ length by Tithonus, despite the pair going off at big prices.
That near miss followed a similar effort at this track, beaten a head by Pipers Note back in June, starting as a 20/1 poke that day. Holding his own, he’s overdue a rub of the green, and we think Snap Shots will get it here. He’s our ace of the afternoon, and you’re sure to get a run for your money.
