League Cup means domestic action is back

It may only be mid-July, but the group stage of the Scottish League Cup gets the domestic season started. It’s a sign of things to come, with the English Premier League kick-off just four weeks away.

There’s lots for Coral punters to get stuck into on Saturday, with value on offer for those willing to put in the legwork. We aim to help boost your betting balance with a punchy accumulator. Below you’ll find five teams picked to win from the Scottish League Cup, with every £10 returning £94.60.

Dundee United beat Raith Rovers

One of the better games of the round, as rivals Dundee United and Raith Rovers face-off. The Arabs went extremely close to playing Premiership football, falling at the final hurdle in the play-offs, beaten 1-0 by Hamilton over two legs. With Hibs now in the top-tier, United are aiming to build a side capable of winning the league. Home cheer looks value at 1/2, and that’s the perfect way to start us off.

QOS beat Stenhousemuir

Championship vs League Two, and the gulf in class between the sides should be evident here. QOS struggled for consistency last term, but they’ve more than held their own in the Scottish second-flight in previous seasons. They make the trip to Ochilview Park lacking match sharpness, but have to be fancied against their part-time opponents, and fitness should be the difference here. 6/10 looks a great price.

Miller

Morton beat Berwick

The Ton finished in the Championship play-offs, eventually beaten by Dundee United over two legs. They have a young, ambitious squad, with manager Jim Duffy using the loan market wisely. The Greenock side were impressive last season, and the young players at the club would’ve improved over the summer. Jai Quitongo will have a major say in the coming months, and is capable of controlling this one. Away win at 2/5.

Partick beat Livingston

Partick Thistle are a Premiership side, and we’ll see an example of that when they take on lowly Livingston. The Lions are a decent outfit amongst their own kind, but confidence is high in the Thistle camp and they’re a crew more than capable of putting a dent in this competition. The Glasgow side will use this as an opportunity to sharpen up, and Coral’s 19/20 shapes as our NAP of the round. Top value, if this works out the way we expect.

Motherwell beat Queens Park

Another David vs Goliath as Premiership Motherwell meet the amateurs of Queens Park. It’ll be an interesting season for Well fans, as they hope for a better turnout than last time, but they could have a Friday night out on the town and you’d still fancy them to get through this match in one piece. We’re not saying they will, or they should, but what we are saying is 4/9 is one of the best pieces of value you’ll find this weekend.
