Top five on a busy day

Sunday will be no day of rest for football punters this weekend as we enjoy a jam-packed schedule. Arsenal – Man Utd headlines the best from the English Premier League, while there’s a full card in the Championship and games of note from Scotland.

Time is running out for that big win of the 2016/17 season, if you haven’t managed it yet, but Sunday could very well be your day. There’s enough going on to build a stacked accumulator, and Coral provide the value, meaning a few shrewd selections could have a big impact on your betting balance, all for small stakes.

We have picked out our five best from the day below, with every £5 down returning £318.40, prices and returns correct at the time of writing…..

Man Utd beat Arsenal

We start with a bold call, probably the bravest of the day, but if placing our trust in the form of both sides so far this season, an away win makes perfect sense. Arsenal did pull off that shock vs Man City in the FA Cup, but pundits have been quick to forget just how poor The Gunners have been in the league.

The Londoners won’t be finishing in the top-four this season, and could end as low as sixth, if Everton can finish with a flurry. Wenger’s side lost rather convincingly to great rivals Spurs last time, and have won just four of their last 10 at this level. Draws have plagued Man Utd, but they’ll go the extra mile to better old foes Arsenal, and could break into the top-four. Our 16/5 looks a great starting point.

Reading beat Burton

If The Royals want to go and win this match to secure third-place, and an easier time of things in the play-offs, it’s there for them. They currently sit in the bronze medal spot, and prepare on the back of a 1-0 win over Wigan. They’ll have one eye on the play-offs, but opponents Burton have nothing to play for here. Albion lost 3-0 in the reverse of this fixture, and we expect a similar outcome at a handy 11/5.

Leeds beat Wigan

Everyone connected to Leeds will be heartbroken. They took their eye off the ball briefly, and paid a heavy price, dropping out the play-offs, despite spending most of the year in the money spots. They are a proud lot, and although hurting, will want to thank fans for their support with an honest finish to the season. Wigan are relegated and winless in three. The Peacocks at 7/5.

Newcastle beat Barnsley

Magpies boss Rafa Benitez told fans after his side’s 2-0 win over Cardiff last time that anything can happen on the final day of the season, and they will do their bit to ensure the club finish as Championship winners. Newcastle are already promoted, and deservedly so, they’re now just a point off leaders Brighton, who have lost each of their last two. Is there a final twist? Take the favourites at 2/9.

Norwich beat QPR

Norwich have been a difficult side for punters to nail down this season. They beat Reading 7-1 last month, but suffered a crushing defeat to Fulham in their next start. The Canaries have blown hot-and-cold all term, but will want to get fans back onside with a strong finish. Unbeaten in three, we go 8/13.
