Thursday’s five-fold from Dublin
We move into the second stage of this season’s Premier League Darts season, and with the weaker duo picked off, it’s left to the remaining contenders to battle it out for a place in the play-offs. Raymond van Barneveld is out twice at the 3Arena, but we don’t reckon he’ll pull off a double.

Van Gerwen beat Wade
James Wade also has two matches planned for Thursday, but he’s expected to get off to a stinker against MVG. The Machine arrives in Dublin having lost each of his last four matches in all competitions, and that won’t be good for his mindset going into this one. We expect to see Mighty hit the front early, and stamp out Wade’s challenge before it has begun. Two matches on one night isn’t ideal, starting against Van Gerwen only makes it more difficult. 1/6 shows just how our traders see this one going.
Taylor beat Barneveld
Next is the first of Barney’s two, and again he has been handed a tough task to get the night started. The Power has probably been as far from his best in the early exchanges of this tournament as we have seen from him, but he remains in the hunt to extend his season and seems to have steadied the ship, beating Klaasen last time for his fourth win of nine. Confidence can be taken from the way Taylor has won when he’s had to, and he’s hitting his stride now. Coral’s 5/4 looks a generous offer indeed.
Wright beat Chisnall
Chizzy survived by the skin of his teeth, and finished the regular season third from bottom, showing a record of three wins and six defeats. He was saved by the fact Klaasen and Huybrechts were so poor, but I don’t expect a turnaround in his fortunes now. In fact, they should get worse. He was smashed 7-1 by MVG in Cardiff and his confidence will be in tatters. Step forward Peter Wright, who is the sport’s form player at the moment. This looks a gimme, as does the 4/7 on a Snakebite win, which does a job in our acca.
Anderson beat Lewis
A quick-fire repeat of week nine, where Anderson and Lewis paired off. We had the Scotsman backed that night, and see no reason to change tactics here. Anderson beat Lewis in Cardiff courtesy of a convincing 7-3 result, and can go and have a shot at winning the title now. Jackpot is another player I believe has run his race, and not much of one either, showing four wins, four defeats and one draw. More of the same for Gary at 8/13.
Barneveld beat Wade
These two players return for a second crack at it. If our thinking works out to be correct, we’ll be waiting on a first Barney win of the evening to get our five-fold home and hosed. Studying the form of the Dutchman leaves no other option than to support him against an opponent who has been largely unconvincing so far. Barney wiped the floor with Wade last time, and will do again at a helpful 8/11.
