Prices and returns mentioned below are present and correct at the time of writing, let’s run through the main contenders…..

Newcastle beat Cardiff

Newcastle could move within a point of Brighton at the top, and ramp the pressure up on a nervy Seagulls side who lost last time out. It’s now at the do-or-die stage of the season, and things may just be out of Newcastle’s hands in terms of finishing in pole, but they’ll want to end strong and ask the right questions. This means much more to the visitors than it does to Cardiff who have nothing to play for. Evens will do us nicely.

Ross County beat Inverness

Moving to the Scottish top-flight and it’s not difficult to oppose bottom-club Inverness, who have managed just one win in their last 10, and have lost each of their last three. Going down to Aberdeen, St Johnstone and Motherwell, the highlanders have conceded eight goals in that period. A win would see County all but safe in this league for another year, and they take heart from a three-match unbeaten run. 19/20 looks fair.

Newcastle to beat Blackburn and both sides score

Juventus beat Atalanta

Juve are eight points clear of Roma at the top of Serie A, and look to have a great chance of enhancing that on Friday night. The Old Lady have won each of their last three, all without conceding a goal, and now turn their sights on an opponent who they have already beaten twice this season, on league and cup duty, scoring six goals in the process. Juve are 11/10, and that looks a slice of value.

Villarreal beat Sporting Gijon

Gijon are enduring a miserable La Liga campaign, and will probably be put out of their misery in the summer. Third-bottom, they have won just one of their last 10, and show -30 in the goal-difference tally. They should be opposed at every turn, until we see better, and in-form Villarreal, who have won four of their last five, can’t be ignored at 4/9.

Leverkusen beat Schalke

Finishing up in the German Bundesliga and Schalke are down in the bottom-half of the table and suffering from a real lack of consistency. Their last five show two defeats, two draws and a win. Leverkusen, one place lower in the rankings, don’t look too much better on paper, but they should make home advantage count against a poor opponent. 11/10 helps boost up our numbers.
