Prices and returns taken from the Coral site are correct at the time of writing, with every £1 invested paying £140.01. Let’s pick through the runners and riders…..

Leicester beat Sunderland

You won’t make much money opposing Leicester at the minute, or backing Sunderland for that matter. The Foxes were impressive winners again on Saturday, grabbing their fourth positive result on the spin since making that massive mistake and sacking Ranieri. We sound like a broken record, but they won by a two-goal margin and Vardy scored. I expect more of the same against a rotten Sunderland at 4/9.

Man Utd beat Everton

It is a frustrating time to support either of these sides, with United throwing away silly points thanks to draws, while Everton continue their long-standing tradition of going to Anfield and rolling over. The pressure is building on Mourinho to steady the ship and really drive for a top-four finish, Champions League football can’t be left to winning the Europa League. We’ll give United a chance at 4/7.

Reading beat Blackburn

Reading have impressed of late and go into the midweek round of fixtures on the back of two wins on the spin, moving them to within a point of third-place Huddersfield. They have already banked a place in the play-offs, but the bronze medal finish would make a massive difference to their chances of going up. They are backed at a value 10/11 vs relegation-threatened Blackburn.

Brighton beat Birmingham

The Seagulls still have it all to play for, and remain in the hunt for a title win. That probably has as much to do with Newcastle’s inability to put the race to bed, as it does with Brighton’s form, but there can be no more slip-ups, and they must go on an unbeaten run. Birmingham are winless in five, and have managed just two victories in their last 10. We go Brighton at 8/15.

Vardy terrorised Manchester City with a hat-trick.

Fulham beat Derby

This one should boost our returns up, but we do make The Cottagers a great price to beat Derby at 19/10. Fulham have blasted their way into the play-offs, thanks to six wins and three draws from their last 10 league starts. Derby don’t have a lot left to play for, and that shows in their recent results, winning just two of 10.

Bolton beat Southend

Another side who have hit form when it matters, we have seen The Trotters move up a gear turning for home. They shouldn’t catch leaders Sheffield United, but look likely to finish second and return to the Championship without the lottery of the play-offs. Southend are a capable outfit, but we side with Bolton’s big game experience at 19/10. That’s heavier than it should be.

Aberdeen beat Inverness

When betting on the Scottish Premiership, The Dons should be the first name on your slip, after Celtic of course. They go into game 31 of their season 10 points ahead of Rangers in the race for second-place. Eight wins in their last 10 fills backers with hope, while Caley are bottom of the league. 2/9 Aberdeen is about fair.

Ross County beat Dundee

There’s just two points between Dundee and Ross County down in the bottom-half of the division, meaning we are in for a competitive evening. It’s easy to go against Dundee though, as they were destroyed 7-0 by Aberdeen last time, and have lost each of their last four. Staggies round us off at 21/20.
