Our best eight from England and Scotland

The bulk of the English lower leagues go on Friday and Monday, giving punters a long weekend of betting, but there’s plenty to get involved in on Saturday, with a tense round of fixtures from the top-flights of England and Scotland.

Tottenham aim to move to within four points of Premier League leaders Chelsea with a win over Bournemouth, while Rangers look to keep the pressure on Aberdeen for second-place. Our football guys have picked through the best of the matches from England and Scotland, returning with a big price acca. We’re shooting for the stars here, with every £1 bet paying £238.58, but each of the eight teams selected go in on merit.

Everton beat Burnley

The Toffees have been fantastic this season and a win here would move them above Arsenal and into sixth. Poor old Arsenal, at least they can take heart from the fact they can’t sink any lower. Everton were impressive when beating Leicester 4-2 last week, and that shows the confidence that’s running right through their team. In Lukaku they have a match winner. Home side to start us off on a safe footing at 4/9.

West Ham beat Sunderland

It’s not always easy to back West Ham with our cash this season, but it’s always easy to oppose Sunderland. The Black Cats go bottom of the league, winless in seven and on the back of three defeats in-a-row. Moyes’ side haven’t scored a single goal since beating Palace on 4th February. Wow! 5/4 West Ham, we’ll say now more.

Man City beat Southampton

Now we have a game on our hands with The Cititzens travelling down to St Mary’s. The locals are unbeaten in three, a draw and two wins, but City are in great shape, losing just one of their last 10, the spare coming against Chelsea on their penultimate start. We’re giving Pep’s boys the benefit of the doubt, with 3/4 too good to ignore.

Reading beat Aston Villa

Just one game goes in the Championship on Saturday, but it’s a cracker as Aston Villa host Reading. The Royals were humiliated by Norwich last time, losing 7-1, and will be out to make someone pay. This match couldn’t come soon enough for anyone in the Reading side, and we remember they’ve won three of their last four, beating Sheff Weds and Leeds. 7/2 is massive.

Lukaku is in fine form and will look to continue it against Man City.

Rangers beat Partick

New Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha remains unbeaten since taking control at Ibrox, and saw his side smash Aberdeen 3-0 at Pittodrie last time. Everyone in the home dressing room will be eager to impress and book their spot in the upcoming Old Firm Scottish Cup semi-final. Beating Partick in the second Glasgow Derby is the perfect way to do that, at 8/13.

Morton beat Raith

The Ton are the most-improved side in the Scottish Championship and are on-course for a place in the play-offs. They have been out of sorts in recent weeks, but have the perfect chance to bounce back against a Raith Rovers who are second bottom, having lost each of their last two.

Hibs beat QOS

Hibs will finally return to the Premiership as champions, after a couple of failed attempts. They have been handed the crown, in the end, by the poor form of those around them, but can rubber stamp it at home vs Queens, who lost 4-0 when last at Easter Road.

Dundee United beat Ayr United

Ayr are bottom of the league, and will be ducking back into League One in the summer. They have lost each of their last three, leaking 10 goals in the process. The Tangerines are no world beaters, but could go second with a win. 7/10 rounds us off.
