Market looks right in Mexico

Dustin shapes as a worthy favourite
We scoot over to Club de Golf Chapultepec for the focus of this week’s golf preview, and the first WGC event of 2017 – the Mexico Championship. All the action comes to us live from Thursday evening courtesy of Sky Sports, and you can bet on every swing here at Coral.

We’re not hot on Scott’s chances
Adam Scott won this title 12-months ago, recording a score of 12 under-par, which would have been good enough to bank the prize money in each of the last three renewals. The 36-year-old Australian, imaginatively nicknamed ‘Scotty’, isn’t expected to feature this time out however, and you can back him at 20/1 with Coral to defend his crown.
That makes Scott seventh in the current betting, behind the likes of Jordan Spieth, Rickie Fowler and Rory McIlroy. The latter has recently returned from injury however, meaning punters must make a decision – is the Brit rested, recharged and ready for action, or rusty and low on confidence. I wouldn’t like to take a chance on the former, but if you want to give Rors the benefit of the doubt, then we’ll hand 12/1 across the counter.

World number one worth a wager
The man to carry our stake money this week will be another former winner in Dustin Johnson. The American starts at the head of the betting with us, and it’s difficult to pick holes in that, as he travels in stunning form and was seen in winning shape in the Genesis Open.
On the back of that effort the 32-year-old is now ranked number one in the world, and will be eager to prove just why this week. He won this title back in 2015, so knows exactly what is expected, and everything seems to be going well for him of late, on and off the greens. This looks a tight course and should favour the jolly’s patience and experience. He’s capable of keeping himself in the mix early, chipping away at the right end of the table, and has the know how to push the issue when it matters.
Coral are giving 6/1 on Dustin Johnson, and for your money you get the world number one who has already won this title. That sounds like a fair deal.
