Bubbly Torpedo to bloom in Coral Essex Vase Final

The final of the Coral Essex Vase at 21:08 is the feature race on a cracking Open race card at Romford tonight of Sky Sports 5 and T5 Bubbly Torpedo is strongly fancied to land the spoils.

Paul Young’s son of Razldazl George has a tremendous strike rate at the track having won five of his nine starts and is 2-2 when sporting the orange jacket.

He was particularly impressive in last week’s semis when flashing from the lids to make all and slam Rio San Marino by six lengths in a time of 35.28.

Although that was slightly slower than that of T1 Roswell Romanov, who is favourite for this, Torpedo looks to have a much better draw than that rival.

With T2 Peregrine Falcon and T3 Rio San Marino both early paced types there is a distinct possibility of trouble on the inside, and if that proves to be the case a smash break can see Bubbly Torpedo turn the first bend in front and quickly establish a race winning advantage.

Pass To Go drawn to deliver

In the Like Coral On Facebook Standard (20:16), T6 Pass To Go has a peach of a draw and looks well worth a wager at the odds on offer.

Bob Pattinson’s dog thrives around the venue and has won 10 of his 44 starts at it.

He also has a strike rate of just under 25 per cent from the stripes and is a really tough nut to crack when turning in front and getting loose on the bunny.

Although he has finished behind T3 Toolmaker Rambo and T4 Clondoty Alex in recent outings there is every reason to believe he can gain his revenge.

With Clonodty Alex sure to be cutting in at the first bend, and three early paced sorts on his inner, there is a distinct possibility of a coming together.

With a slick exit Pass To Go has enough pace to clear T5 Crossfield James and looks ideally housed to capitalise and make all.

Dashing Star to shine in marathon test

T5 Dashing Star looks decent value to turn over red-hot favourite T4 Droopys Lucinda in the Win Online, Collect Cash In Shop With Connect over a stamina sapping 925m at 20:51.

John Mullins’ dog is a tough and consistent performer who showed what he is capable of when making all to slam the smart Droopys Cottage by seven lengths over 750m at the track back in August.

He produced a rapid 24.36 sectional to win in a time of 47.13 and that is much better than Lucinda’s best winning time of 47.94 over the trip.

Dashing Star has also held his form well since that victory, winning four times, and boasts some strong form to his name over marathon trips.

With Droopys Lucinda also devoid of early pace and having to ride his luck in the opening stages, Dashing Star looks ideally housed as the sole middle seed to ping out and put his rivals to the sword.

Billys Bullet worth a shot Mitch Millward Memorial Marathon Final

In the Mitch Millward Memorial Marathon Final (20:51), T1 Billys Bullet looks capable of springing a surprise and bagging another big race success in what has been a glittering career.

The Mark Wallis trained son of Ace Hi Rumble has been a terrific servant and overcame serious injury to win the final of this year’s Coral Regency at Hove back in May.

Billys Bullet has since posted a series of solid efforts and is a tremendous competition dog who always gives his best.

He performed with great credit to get to the final of the St Leger at Wimbledon and comes into the race in good heart having won over course and distance before finishing a fine second to T4 Slick Sebastian in last week’s heats for this.

Bullet missed the kick slightly in the latter but showed good early pace and rode a couple of bumps before keeping on really well to go down by 1 3/4 lengths.

It was a fine effort given how the race panned out and granted a slicker exit he looks a massive player if leading on the inside or getting a clear to the bend and turning in a handy pitch.
