Mofara can outstay rivals in Posh Marathon at Peterborough

Peterborough and Romford feature on Racing Post Greyhound TV tonight (Sky 468, Freesat 250) and T3 Trumpers Mofara rates the best bet at the former in the 805m Posh Marathon at 21:15.

Geraldine Kovac’s bitch isn’t the most prolific of winners but has performed well in better contests than this and most importantly has proven stamina.

That is a massive plus in this line up as market leader Romany Rouge is far more effective over six bends and unproven over 695m.

Greyhounds - Brighton & Hove Greyhound Stadium

To me, Rouge does not look to be crying out for a step up and, although the most likely leader, will have to open up a wide margin advantage to fend off the power packed finish of the selection.

If Trumpers Mofara is within striking distance at the final bend I fully expect him to prove too strong at the business end of affairs and get the job done.

Ruby looks a gem in Posh Ladies

In the 435m Posh Ladies Standard (21:48) T6 Vinegarhill Ruby looks decent value to exploit what looks a good draw.

David Pruhs’ daughter of Hondo Black has suffered some costly defeats of late but does have a best recent time of 26.06 in the book.

Greyhounds - Romford Greyhound Stadium

That just about sets the standard in this line-up and another plus is that she has plenty of early boot when timing it right at the lids.

Vinegarhill Ruby is also the sole wide side and looks ideally housed in the stripes to flash out and capitalise on any crowding on her inside register a trap-to-line success.

Lots to like about Lipstick at Romford

Lipstick has been in tremendous form of late and rates a solid bet to land the A4 Owners Binus series Final at Romford (21:24).

Phil Simmonds’ bitch has won five of her last eight starts at the venue and three of those victories have come over the 480m trip of this contest.

Greyhounds - Romford Greyhound Stadium

She was impressive in the last of those seven days ago when powering clear to score by 1 1/4 lengths and is also a useful six-bend performer who has the perfect combination of early pace and staying power.

Granted a slick exit, and clear run around the first bend, Lipstick should turn in an ideal pitch from which to kick-in the turbo mid-race.

If that proves to be the case then she should prove far too strong for her rivals to contain in the latter stages of the contest.

Chopchop Josh can cut rivals down to size

In the A2 (22:11), T5 Chopchop Josh looks to have outstanding claims of getting back on the scoresheet.

Ernie Gaskin’s dog has won six of his 24 starts at the track and is two from three when sporting the orange jacket.

Greyhounds - Romford Greyhound Stadium

He got no luck in-running four days ago when showing early pace only to be badly bumped and crowded at the first bend and eventually finish last, but is far better than that.

Prior to that, the son of Vans Escalade’s previous run in the grade had seen him produce a slick 3.82 sectional to make all and score easily by 3 1/4 lengths.

Granted a similar exit Chopchop Josh can be away and gone at the first bend.
