We feature Newcastle v Ipswich odds, as current league leaders the Magpies get set for a showdown at St James’ Park, while other highlights include Burton Albion’s battle with Birmingham City and Nottingham Forest’s trip to Cardiff City.

So, sit back, prepare for the latest instalment of Championship action, and get betting on our hand-picked punts…

Birmingham to beat Burton and both score

In Friday’s only fray, Birmingham are a truly tempting 24/5 to best hosts Burton and both teams score at the Pirelli Stadium in Staffordshire.

Birmingham City manager Gary Rowett is seeking victory on Friday.

The Championship Blues sit fifth to the Brewers’ 19th in the table, and should be in high spirits after firing four past Rotherham in their previous outing.

Gary Rowett’s guys have conceded in all but one of their last six games, despite losing just once, so the home team can expect to get on target too. But, ultimately, the Burton boys shouldn’t have enough to trouble their guests after winning only one of their past eight.

Forest to split spoils with Cardiff

In Saturday’s latest kick-off, Nottingham Forest welcome Cardiff to the City Ground, and are 9/4 to see the duel end in a draw.

Neither side have been in fantastic form of late, and both dangle close to the bottom of the second tier standings, with just three points between them.

The Tricky Trees and the Bluebirds each boast only two triumphs from their last 10 matches so, with 11 previous meetings finishing evenly, including their last clash in 2015, a splitting of spoils seems value.

Gayle to score first and Newcastle beat Ipswich

Championship table toppers Newcastle United are in flying form and have the perfect chance to stay in pole position ahead of Norwich City as Ipswich Town make the long trek to Tyneside.

Punters can back in-form forward Dwight Gayle to draw first blood and the Magpies snatch all three points, with a brilliant combined price of 14/5.

The visiting Tractor Boys have only enjoyed roadtrip success once in six attempts this season, while Newcastle are strong at St James’ and unbeaten in six. This is largely down to the form of goal gobbler Gayle, who opened scoring last time out and has hit 11 in as many league matches.

Leeds to sink Wolves by exactly one goal

Inconsistent clubs Leeds United and Wolverhampton Wanderers meet on Saturday too, and customers can get great odds of 9/2 for the Elland Road outfit to win by exactly one goal.

The Yorkshire club have clinched victory by that same margin in the previous two tussles between these two teams and have secured five of their seven wins across all competitions by scoring one goal more than the opposition, making them masters of this margin.

Huddersfield to defeat Derby and under 2.5 goals

High flying Huddersfield Town have seen their remarkable home run come to an end of late but, on their own patch, should still have enough to edge Derby County.

The Rams have improved of late but still look unremarkable, scoring only two in their last three games. While, the hosts scored the same amount in as many of their past matches. So, opting for Yorkshire club Huddersfield at 19/5 to win and under 2.5 goals in the encounter could prove prudent.
