Swift Rage ready to rock again at Romford
There is a 12-race graded card at Romford tonight on Racing Post Greyhound TV (Sky 468, Freesat 250) and T3 Swift Rage rates the standout bet in the S1 at 20:50.
The Maggie Lucas trained youngster has a progressive profile and was very impressive when making a winning six bend debut in an S2 at the track four days ago.
Swift Rage was quickly away and showed plenty of early pace to make all and score by 5 3/4 lengths.
What impressed most was the way in which he drew clear of his rivals to score with real authority and it was an effort which suggested he needed keeping firmly onside.
A repeat of his 13.90 sectional can enable Swift Rage to once again turn the first bend in front and defy a rise in grade.
Glowing Noir has plenty going for him
Glowing Noir has been knocking on the door of late and can gain a deserved success in the A5 (20:02).
The son of Godsend is a three-time winner in the grade and has a best recent time of 24.53.
That is around 2 1/2 lengths clear of what any of his nearest rivals on the clock have achieved and sets a clear standard in this line-up.
Glowing Noir also has plenty of early pace and, if beating T5 Sparta Melody to the punch, is going to be hard to peg back once on the bunny.
Gable can Storm to success
Gable Storm has quickly risen through the ranks and can notch a first success in A2 company in the 22:11.
Martin Wiley’s pup has won four of her nine starts at the track, progressing through the grades from A6 to A3.
Although beaten in two tries in this grade, the daughter of Ballymac Eske has endured troubled passages and been unable to show her true potential.
The fact that Gable Storm has been heavily punted on both occasions speaks volumes and, if getting away in her best fashion, she can return to winning ways.
Colonel Fergie holds major claims
In the A1 (22:26), T4 Colonel Fergie looks decent value to blast out and make all.
Paul Young’s charge is blessed with plenty of early pace and should have little difficulty clearing a slow starter on his immediate inside.
That should be enough to see Colonel Fergie turn the first bend in front and put himself in the driving seat.
Colonel Fergie also comes into the contest on the back of a fine third in an Open contest at the track, when getting badly crowded on more than one occasion and will appreciate the return to calmer waters.
