Los Angeles Lakers get a rare nod from the oddsmakers on Tuesday night, when they play host to the Brooklyn Nets as 1.5-point favourites in NBA betting at Coral.

Los Angeles have been pegged as the outsider in each of their past 26 contests, including nine dates as a double-digit underdog, and enter Tuesday night’s Nets vs. Lakers matchup at Staples Center as betting chalk for just the fourth time this season, posting just one straight up and against the spread victory in their previous three.

The club also finds itself on the minus side of the game line despite their current eight-game SU losing streak, and have been equally futile both at home and on the road, claiming victory only twice in their past 10 home contests.

Nets (rank outsiders at 1000/1 to win the Eastern Conference) hit the floor at Staples Center for the second time in as many nights, after dropping a 105-95 decision to the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday.

However, Brooklyn make the fifth stop on their lengthy nine-game road trip playing some of their best ball of the campaign, claiming SU wins in two of their past three, and five of their past 10, and ride a four-game ATS win streak, covering as double-digit underdogs in three of those contests.

Brooklyn dropped a 104-98 decision to the Lakers at home on November 6, but have enjoyed success in recent road clashes, picking up SU and ATS wins in their past two visits, both as slim betting favourites.

Portland Trail Blazers (-5.5) @ New York Knicks

Portland Trail Blazers will be gunning for their fourth straight road victory over New York Knicks, when they visit the Big Apple on Tuesday as 5.5-point chalk in NBA betting at Coral.

Blazers have been one of the hottest teams in the NBA since early January, putting Rip City back into playoff contention with 17 SU wins in their past 21 outings. This includes SU and ATS victories in the first two stops on their current six-game swing through the East, with a trip to Chicago on Saturday, followed by a stop in Indiana on Sunday.

Despite their strong play, Portland continue to sport a feeble 13-16 SU road record, but are an impressive 17-12 ATS on the road, covering in seven of their past eight away from Moda Center.

Since showing glimpses of respectability in the first half of the season, Knicks have struggled, going 3-14 SU in their previous 17 to fall out of playoff contention in the Eastern Conference, have covered just once in their past eight at Madison Square Garden, and posted only one SU win in their last seven overall against Portland.

Orlando Magic @ Dallas Mavericks (-4.5)

In other betting action with Coral on Tuesday night, Dallas Mavericks will try to keep pace with Portland when they host Orlando Magic as 4.5-point NBA betting chalk.

SU winners in three of their past four, Mavs sit alongside the Trail Blazers at 32-28, good for a share of sixth place in the Western Conference standings.

Magic (125/1 to win the Eastern Conference) bounced back from a brutal 2-14 SU stretch with five victories in their past nine outings, but remain a full four games back of the Pacers for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Phoenix Suns will be looking to record back-to-back wins for the first time since early December when they visit the Charlotte Hornets as 12.5-point underdogs.

The Suns broke a 14-game SU losing streak with Saturday’s 111-106 home win over Memphis, but have lost 15 straight on the road, covering the spread just once during that stretch.

Charlotte return home following a six-game road trip, during which they posted four SU and ATS wins, improving to 11-5 SU over their past 16, and are 4-2 SU this season, 3-2-1 ATS, in their first home game following a multi-game road trip.

Also on Tuesday night, Chicago Bulls visit Miami Heat as 6.5-point underdogs, while Golden State Warriors look to stay perfect at home when they host Atlanta Hawks as 9.5-point chalk.
