Leeds make festive trip to Forest

Leeds United make the trip to face Nottingham Forest for a Championship clash during the festive period, with the visitors seeking to end a hapless fixture run in which they have gone triumphed in since September 2012.

Steve Evans will hope he can guide the Yorkshire club to their first fixture success in three years and they are 9/1 with Coral to triumph and both teams to score (£20 max stake) in this latest match-up at the City Ground.

Although, both contests ended a stalemate during last season and another draw can be backed at 11/5 to occur this time around, with Leeds currently only two places and a single point ahead of their next opponents in the second tier table at this stage.

Evans wary of Forest threat

Leeds boss Steve Evans recently stated he was impressed by Forest’s last win over MK Dons, when Ryan Mendes and Nelson Oliveira earned them a narrow 2-1 result, and the latter is 7/2 to fire the hosts to victory once again (£20 max stake).

“I watched them the other day when they beat Milton Keynes Dons and it was a top class performance from Dougie Freedman’s side,” outlined Evans.

But the Whites boss also claimed he saw weaknesses in their game, stating: “They were energetic, they missed a host of chances to put the game away at 2-0, perhaps Dougie was reflecting them when MK Dons got a goal back, here we go, backs to the wall – similar to ourselves against Preston.

“I think if you get opportunities to kill games in the Championship you have to taken them or perhaps you can pay a price. Nottingham Forest survived that day and so did we against Preston.”

Forest hold strong recent record

Forest have now gone unbeaten in their last five outings but their most recent victory came at a price as they lost Dani Pinollas to an injury which has ruled the left back out for the rest of this season.

Meanwhile, Leeds have also been impressive of late, having gone undefeated in four matches, including three wins, with both teams looking upwards heading into the festive fixtures.

Chris Wood has continued to be the main man for Leeds and he is 9/1 to fire them to glory here, with a £20 max stake, while fellow attacker Mirko Antenucci is 15/8 to strike anytime.

Evans’ visitors are in 13th place and Forest in 15th but, with only one point separating the two teams heading into this super Sunday Championship encounter, the City Ground could witness an extremely tight match-up.
