Bluebirds tempting price for victory

Cardiff City travel to Birmingham City being just a place and three points above their hosts in the Championship table, but recent form and meetings suggest they are enticing 2/1 shouts with Coral for all three points.

The Bluebirds are undefeated in their last seven head-to-heads with the Blues (7/5 favourites), while the West Midlands outfit are on a dire run of five league games without a win.

However, Birmingham have drawn their last three, while have also shared the spoils with Cardiff in three of their last four duels at St Andrew’s, so that outcome again is priced at 11/5.

Attacking talent aplenty for Cardiff

Joe Mason and Peter Whittingham have grabbed goals in victories over the Blues for the Welsh side in recent seasons, and you can back them at 7/4 and 5/1 respectively to net anytime once more.

Kenwyne Jones, meanwhile, has been in decent form so far this term, so is also 7/4 in the same market, and boss Russell Slade can also call upon the likes of other attackers Tony Watt (15/8), Federico Macheda (9/4) and Sammy Ameobi (7/2).

For the hosts, they’ll be without their top scorer this season Clayton Donaldson, but on-loan Arsenal attacker Jon Toral is a great price at 7/2 to strike anytime.

Blues stars such as James Vaughan (5/4), Nicolai Brock-Madsen (6/4) and wonderkid Demarai Gray (9/4) will also be looking to find the net.

Perhaps not goals galore?

Despite the array of attacking talent on offer from both sides, the Birmingham and Cardiff’s last three meetings have averaged just a goal a game and they have also scored just 27 and 26 respectively from their opening 21 matches. So, if you fancy there to be under 1.5 again take odds of 15/8.

A win for the visitors would put them into the play-off places ahead of the weekend fixtures, while a Birmingham victory would put them level on points with Cardiff.

Coral’s top tip: With Birmingham out of form and Cardiff having a good recent head-to-head record, back them at 2/1 to claim an away win.
