Rovers to run riot

Blackburn are 6/5 with Coral to beat Bolton in their Championship clash and the visitors will be confident of piling more misery on their Lancashire rivals.

Neil Lennon’s Trotters were battered on Boxing Day, as fellow strugglers Rotherham United smashed in four without reply to keep the hosts bottom of the Championship, in what has been a long, hard season so far. Bolton have won just once all season, a 2-1 home win over Wolves in September, and recent issues behind the scenes have only made things worse, with morale plummeting considerably.

And with the weather outside frightful, things show no signs of improving, with fierce rivals Blackburn visiting next.

Rovers have lost just once in nine and came away 2-0 winners on their last away trip against Bristol City, with Grant Hanley and Ben Marshall the scorers. The duo are 12/1 and 4/1 respectively in the anytime market this time around.

Rhodes’ record

Blackburn striker Jordan Rhodes, meanwhile, has scored four against Bolton for Blackburn and appears to enjoy playing them.

Rhodes is good value at 7/2 to break the deadlock; however, punters could be more tempted by the same price for him to net anytime and for Blackburn to win in a match special with a maximum £20 stake.

The player has also demonstrated particular proclivities for scoring on the road this season, having dispatched in victories over Leeds United and Preston North End. Rhodes and punters alike can take heart from knowing he can cut it in hostile environments, with the home crowd unlikely to go easy on their Lancashire rivals.

Clough offers glimmer of hope

For Bolton, 20-year-old striker Zach Clough may be their only chance of getting all three points. The youngster has been impressive in recent weeks, shouldering the scoring burden maturely, having bagged a brace in the 2-2 with Fulham. Clough is 7/4 to strike anytime.

Emile Heskey, though will also offer vital experience and the veteran former England international is available at 2/1 in the same market, and has a terrific return of 11 in 33 against Blackburn.
