Record-chasing Warriors

The Golden State Warriors can become just the third team in NBA history to open a season with 14 straight wins when they host the Chicago Bulls on Friday night as 8.5-point favourites in NBA betting with Coral.

The Warriors remained perfect on the season by staging a stunning comeback on Thursday night, overcoming a 23-point deficit to knock off the Los Angeles Clippers by a 124-117 score, and have now won 16 straight, dating back to last season’s NBA Finals.

Reigning MVP Stephen Curry led the charge once again for the Warriors, stepping up with 40 points, draining six shots from beyond the three-point line, and adding 11 rebounds to record his second double-double of the season.

It was a demoralizing loss for the Clippers, who were simply unable to contain the Dubs in the second half after recording 68 first-half points.

Best of the rest

Los Angeles also picked up the loss against the spread as 5.5-point underdogs, dropping them to 2-7 ATS in their last nine, and have now failed to post consecutive SU or ATS victories since the first week of the season.

The high-flying Dubs now must face a Bulls squad that rides a four-game SU win streak into Friday night’s matchup at Oracle Arena with a comprehensive schedule of games on offer. Chicago improved to 8-3 SU with a 103-97 win in Phoenix on Wednesday, as 3-point underdogs, but remain just 4-7 ATS on the season.

It also remains unclear whether point guard Derrick Rose will be available to see action on Friday, after the former MVP suffered an ankle injury in Monday night’s 96-95 win over Indiana and missed the club’s victory over the Suns.

Bulls Bullish

Bulls came away with a 113-111 win over the Warriors in their last visit back in January, and are 5-2 SU and ATS in their last seven meetings.

Following Friday’s clash, the Bulls enjoy an off weekend before continue their western swing with a trip to Portland on Tuesday, while the Warriors stay busy, playing their fourth game in six nights on Sunday, visiting the Denver Nuggets.

Los Angeles will try to bounce back from Thursday night’s debacle when they face the Trail Blazers on Friday as 3.5-point road favourites in American basketball betting with Coral.

Warriors Clippers Basketball

Blazers have lost seven straight SU since winning four of their first six to open the season, allowing over 100 points in six of those losses. The current slide has not yet dramatically impacted their NBA championship odds, which have held steady at 50/1. However, their odds of winning the Northwest Division have taken a hit, dropping to 50/1 from their pre-season position at 33/1.

Clippers return home on Sunday to face the awaiting Toronto Raptors, who clash with the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday, favoured by 7.5. In other NBA betting action, the Nuggets will be gunning for just their second win in eight meetings with Phoenix, when they host the Suns on Friday as 2.5-point underdogs.

The red-hot San Antonio Spurs look for a seventh straight win when they visit the New Orleans Pelicans as 8.5-point favourites, while the Philadelphia 76ers look to end their brutal 22-game losing streak, hitting the hardwood against the Charlotte Hornets as 10.5-point underdogs.
