Rafael Nadal has already reached the semi-finals of the 2015 ATP World Tour Finals, and that makes his encounter with fellow Spanish tennis pro David Ferrer a dead rubber, but there’s all to play for between home hope Andy Murray and fourth seed Stan Wawrinka.
Whoever wins between Great Britain’s number one and the late-blooming Swiss shall join Nadal in the knockout out phase at London’s O2 Arena.
Flop Ferrer, meanwhile, threw away his chances of progressing by blowing a lead against Wawrinka, and must now meet a compatriot in Nadal, who has totally overshadowed his own career. Coral preview both of the remaining Group Ilie Nastase battles…

While the head-to-head record on hard surfaces between these Spaniards reads four wins apiece, nobody doubts Nadal’s credentials as a firm odds-on 2/9 match favourite.
Ferrer had set point at 5-3 and 40-30 on Wawrinka in the opener to his last match, and blew it. Choking against tennis’ elite only ends one way, and it’s little wonder the eighth seed is a big 10/3 outsider to cause an upset here.
When these two met at the 2013 edition of the ATP World Tour Finals, Nadal dropped just five games to Ferrer, thrashing him 6-3 6-2. Backing another straight sets victory for Spain’s top tennis pro betters the outright result betting with Nadal at 8/13.

Murray’s record when wrangling with Wawrinka on hard courts is 6-3 in his favour, but both the Briton and the Swiss have been stung be a resurgent and nifty Nadal.
Great Britain’s Davis Cup tie is now just one week away, yet Murray is made odds-on 8/13 favourite for victory which will extend his ATP World Tour Finals participation by at least one more day.
Wawrinka, meanwhile, responded to that Nadal loss by taking full advantage of floundering Ferrer, so is just 5/4 to knock Murray out and advance instead.
This first meeting for over two years between the Swiss number two and Britain’s finest promises to throw up plenty of excitement, so it could well go the distance. Murray is 11/4 to win in three sets, while Wawrinka is a 10/3 chance for that precise scoreline.
