Lethal Lewandowski to haunt Dortmund again in Bayern battle

Since leaving Borussia Dortmund for Bayern Munich, prolific Poland striker Robert Lewandowski has scored in all three competitive meetings against his former club.
Couple this clear penchant for grabbing goals that haunt BVB with the Pole’s current purple patch of 10 in his past three outings for Pep Guardiola’s German giants, and it’s no wonder lethal Lewandowski is odds-on at 6/10 with Coral to net again anytime.
This Bundesliga battle pits the only two unbeaten teams in that division against one another. Lewandowski’s devastating form is very much a factor in hosts Bayern being strong 1/2 favourites to defeat Dortmund.
Poaching the Westfalenstadion’s best and brightest – let’s not forget another BVB old boy in 6/4 anytime scorer chance Mario Gotze is available to Guardiola too – has done nothing to dispel that menacing Munich reputation.
Dortmund are going great guns under new boss Thomas Tuchel, but inevitably hold a big outside price of 5/1 to win at the Allianz Arena. Even a draw is a relatively remote prospect at 10/3.

Munich, who are defending a 100 per cent Budesliga record, have managed two more league goals than Dortmund, and thus far conceded just half as many, though. Ageing wide duo Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben’s respective absences have barely been noticeable.
Add three from Gotze and eight from Thomas Muller, 6/5 to score anytime here, to the 14 Lewandowski has bagged in all competitions, and already the Bayern boys in attack have 25 between them.
While a third hat-trick from a fourth successive fixture seems a little fanciful for the Pole at 12/1, punters should snap up a terrific 3/1 on Lewandowski scoring two or more. He’s also a tasty 10/3 to grab the opener.
Dortmund do have their own danger in Gabon forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has 13 goals in as many outings this season, and that makes odds of 13/8 in the anytime market well worth taking too.
Fellow BVB attacker Marco Reus’ omission from the latest Germany squad was surprising after six in 10 this term, so he is 14/5 to give national coach Joachim Low a reminder of what he can do in front of goal.
Considering the form of Dortmund’s frontline, then, Munich are splendid value at 15/8 to win with both teams finding the target.
