Five fantastic bets for League Cup round of 16 Tuesday fixtures
The Capital One Cup has thrown up four delightful duels that should make for superb viewing on Tuesday evening, so Coral experts highlight five punts that may prove profitable across four fascinating frays.
Theo Walcott to fire in first
Walcott is 11/4 to star in this televised showing, by scoring the opener, as Arsenal face Sheffield Wednesday. The Gunners are in gung-ho form with 10 goals in their last four games, and the English attacker should start after being rested at the weekend.
With his striking spot perhaps under threat from Olivier Giroud, Walcott is a great shout to get proceedings underway, having struck first in each of the last two times he has been on the scoresheet.
Norwich City to end evenly with inconsistent Everton
Four of the past six times the Toffees have tussles with Norwich, a draw has been the outcome. So, in normal time, odds of 14/5 for a splitting of the spoils between these two teams is generous.
Both sides come into this battle on the back of poor runs, as Everton are without a win in three, and the Canaries arrive having failed to triumph in four. Hosts the Toffees have also toiled in the League Cup, conceding against four in games against Barnsley and Reading so far.
Leicester City to steal spoils from hosts Hull City
As any Premier League fan will know, the fifth-placed Foxes are flying high under Claudio Ranieri, so are incredible at 8/5 to defeat Championship club Hull at home in 90 minutes.
Leicester’s one loss in all competitions came against giants Arsenal, though the Midlands men still gave the Gunners a run for their money at one point. Ranieri’s roster has strength in-depth and last time the Foxes took a trip to the KC Stadium they came away with a 1-0 win.
Jamie Vardy to grab final goal
Key to the Foxes’ ferocious form has been fantastic forward Jamie Vardy, whose goal heroics at club level have been justly rewarded by England caps. The flexible attacker just can’t stop scoring, and has hit six in his last four, with two of those strikes having the final say. So, Vardy is terrific value at 10/3 to net last again here against Hull.
Chelsea to sink Stoke City but both teams to score
The Potters may be on home turf but have won just once in their last 11 dust-ups against the Blues at the Britannia. Of course, it is currently the fashion to bet against Chelsea but, with their backs up against the wall, Jose Mourinho’s men can come out on top. If the ‘Special One’ is to save his job, they will have to.
Chelsea are currently the champions of this competition and won’t want to concede the title without a fight. However, they are best value at 16/5 to win with both teams to score, as it appears unlikely they would come out unscathed, having kept just four clean sheets across all competitions this campaign.
