Capital One Cup achievable target for Reds?
Liverpool are 15/2 with Coral to win this competition and new boss Jurgen Klopp will have identified this as a very realistic achievement in what would be a bonus in his first season in charge.
The Reds are odds-on at 1/2 to beat Bournemouth next time out in what would be the German manager’s first win in charge since taking over, after drawing his first three matches.
However, Klopp’s team selection will be interesting as Belgium striker Christian Benteke has been ruled out because of a knee injury and the Merseyside outfit are set to play Chelsea next time out in the Premier League.
Ritchie running can expose Reds
Bournemouth right winger Matt Ritchie took under a minute to score against Spurs and has proved he can be a problem for teams this term.
Should Klopp opt to pick Alberto Moreno at left back, Ritchie can catch him out, with the Spain international time and again taking up advanced positions against Southampton.
At an enhanced 4/1 (from 11/4 in the regular anytime market), staking up to £20, this represents real value for punters with Cherries wideman Ritchie more than capable of causing a scare. Yann Kermorgant provides Eddie Howe with an experienced threat in attack and could well be worth a punt at 2/1 in the anytime market.
Firmino in line for start?
Having seen him play numerous times in the Bundesliga, Klopp will be more than aware of the Brazilian’s talent. This could be a great opportunity for the 24-year-old to start and also, build up an on-field understanding with compatriot Philippe Coutinho.
They are 9/2 and 11/2 respectively to open the scoring and once the two click, can cause big problems for opposition.
