Capital One Cup: Foxes face Hammers in Tuesday’s other action

In a midweek break from Premier League and Championship action, the Capital One Cup takes centre stage as Leicester City look to continue their superb recent form when they host fellow top-flight high-flyers West Ham United.
Elsewhere, second tier team Fulham welcome Mark Hughes’ Stoke City to Craven Cottage and Reading look to rediscover some confidence on home soil against Merseyside outfit Everton.
Leicester v West Ham
After matchday six in the Premier League, the Foxes and Hammers surprisingly occupy the table’s third and fourth positions respectively, following superb early season form which they are hoping to convert onto the league cup stage.
Slaven Bilic’s East London side are 3/1 with Coral to topple the in-form Foxes at the King Power Stadium, having recently become only the fourth team in history to overcome Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City on the road in the same season.
Although, Leicester have won back-to-back games against the Hammers, including at the start of this current campaign and end of last, while the visitors were previously unbeaten in this fixture since December 2000 before last term’s away loss.
For the odds-on 19/20 home favourites, England international Jamie Vardy is a threat at 6/1 to open proceedings, after netting four times already, while Dimitri Payet is the key Hammers dangerman and 11/4 to strike anytime.
Fulham v Stoke
The Cottagers and Potters have been tough to separate in this fixture during recent seasons, having both won three of the previous six meetings, and Championship club Fulham are now 21/10 to cause an upset on home turf.
Fulham will hold hurtful memories of this clash, with the previous match-up coming during their last campaign in the top-flight before being relegated, as Stoke helped that cause by thrashing their opposition 4-1 at home.
Republic of Ireland forward Jonathan Walters capped off that dominant win in May last year and the in-form frontman is 6/1 to strike last again this time out. Fulham’s Ross McCormack bagged a double in the last cup outing and is 9/1 to add to add to his four season goals with another brace.
Reading v Everton
The hosts have won three of the last five encounters with Everton, stretching back to August 2007, but Steve Clarke knows only a royal performance from his men will be enough to topple Roberto Martinez’s impressive Toffees.
Despite currently sitting sixth in the Championship table, Reading hold a woeful home record of late, having won just once in their last 12 games in all competitions at the Madejski Stadium, with Everton 6/5 to take advantage with a triumph.
Royals finisher Nick Blackman has already dispatched six goals in 10 outings this season and is 15/8 to add to that impressive tally anytime on home soil.
