Wolfsburg tackle Schalke in Friday Bundesliga battle
Published:
Everything points to a 1-1 draw in this clash between Wolfsburg and Schalke, which is priced at 6/1 with Coral to occur at the Volkswagen Arena. The two teams recorded that same scoreline in their previous round of matches, as did last Friday night’s Bundesliga clash between Hertha Berlin and Werder Bremen, while it was also the same result in this fixture last season.
Both the Wolves (19/20 favourites to win) and Miners (5/2) are also on four points this season after two games, so a draw (11/4) does seem the best bet to take.
Manchester City target Kevin De Bruyne got a late equaliser for Wolfsburg against Schalke in this fixture last term, but it remains to be seen if the Belgian will be used for his possible final game for the club before moving back to the Premier League.
But, like John Stones did on Wednesday night in the Capital One Cup for Everton against Barnsley ahead of his expected transfer to Chelsea, De Bruyne may want to give fans of the Bundesliga runners-up one final show of gratification.
The former Blues attacker is part of a Coral match special, though, if you do have faith in him taking part. Fantastic odds of 7/2 say that he will net anytime and Wolfsburg win (maximum stake of £20). While he is priced at 5/4 in the normal scorer market.

But strikers Bas Dost and Nicklas Bendtner, who was on target against the Miners away last term, are the ones to have found the net this season so far, and are priced at 10/11 and 6/4 respectively to strike anytime again.
For the visitors, meanwhile, Germany youth international Leroy Sane got the opener last season at Wolfsburg, so is a tempting 11/4 price in the same market.
The likes of Klaas-Jan Huntelaar (5/4), Eric Choupo Moting and former Chelsea and Wigan Athletic frontman Franco Di Santo (both 2/1), though, are more likely shouts to strike.
Schalke have their very own attacking star that could be on the move too, as Julian Draxler has been heavily linked to Serie A. But he is priced at 10/3 in the anytime market.
Other former Premier League stars to look out for in this match, meanwhile, include Andre Schurrle for Wolfsburg and Matija Nastasic (6/4) for Schalke. It is highly unlikely that Kevin-Prince Boateng will feature, though, as he is still suspended by the latter club.
Coral’s betting tip – Going by recent results, a 1-1 draw @ 6/1 is a great shout
