SPORTSBOOK ODDS

The Capital One Cup first round finally kicks off this midweek, and Coral are back with a bang to bring canny customers a marvellous Midlands treble at terrific price of 15/2.

Turning out to raise the cup curtain are Birmingham City, Coventry City and Wolverhampton Wanderers, who are all either excellent, or odds-on, chances to win their respective clashes within 90 minutes.

So, kick back after work, open a cold one and read on to find out how to make a potential profit…

Bristol Rovers v Birmingham City
Hosts the Pirates are far behind visiting Birmingham in their progress, having only just been promoted from Conference play-offs to League Two, so may need to brace themselves for a raid.

The Championship Blues are 11/10 favourites to make light work of Rovers and, having enjoyed an opening day league triumph, should be buoyed for battle in Bristol.

While Birmingham have mostly brought Bosmans to the club this summer, midfielder Jon Toral is on loan from Arsenal, and impressively bagged a goal on his league bow. Back him at 13/2 to do so first in the Capital One Cup.

Perhaps the West Midlands men’s biggest achievement this off-season is securing attacking starlet Demari Gray to a new deal amid much interest, and the youngster is a 14/5 shout in the anytime market here.

Rochdale v Coventry City
Coventry face fellow League One club Rochdale, and are 2/1 to take the spoils from the tussle at Spotland. Fresh from a 2-0 victory against Wigan Athletic, Tony Mowbray’s team will expected more success versus another Northwest side.

Punters can back Newcastle United academy graduate Adam Armstrong, on loan at the Sky Blues for the season, to build on his dangerous debut. The striker bagged a brace and is 10/1 to rack up another on the road, or 13/2 to be first scorer.

Wolverhampton Wanderers v Newport County
There is a huge gap in quality between Championship promotion chasers Wolves, odds-on favourites at 1/3 to win, and League Two guests Newport County.

These two teams have never met before, but Wolves’ attack should prove too much for the Exiles. The Molineux men have captured forward Adam Le Fondre (6/5 in the anytime market) on loan from Cardiff City, while brilliant Benik Afobe (7/2 to strike first) and Nouha Dicko (4/1 for the final say) will be hoping to pick up where they left off last season.
