According to reports in Italy, Japan icon Keisuke Honda is keen to find an escape route from Serie A giants AC Milan, 7/4 shouts with Coral for a top three finish, who have spent much of this summer rebuilding their attack.

Having impressed only in patches at the San Siro, it appears Blue Samurai superstar Honda could park up elsewhere for the upcoming campaign as he chases guaranteed game time.

Here, Coral experts highlight five club picks where the flexible forward could thrive…

Borussia Dortmund
At 29, Honda should be chasing one last big move, and is yet to test his talents in the Bundesliga. In the same vein of thinking, German giants Dortmund are yet to make a marquee signing, and could seek to snare the inspirational Japanese playmaker to replace their last import from Italy Ciro Immobile, who has been loaned to Sevilla.

Adaptable Honda should excel in the Bundesliga’s quick-paced and frenetic football environment, and could link-up with compatriot Shinji Kagawa, who is also currently attempting to revive his club career, and who he has proven to gel well with at international level already.

See some smooth interplay between Honda and Kagawa:

Everton
The Toffees are in need of a summer transfer window boost and, Honda could be the answer for Everton’s attacking woes, with Gerard Deulofeu missing the start of the season, while Steven Pienaar is also out injured for some time.

The Osaka-born star can be deployed on either wing, behind the striker, up top himself or even as a deep-lying playmaker, meaning he could plug numerous gaps for the seemingly cash-strapped club. Definitely a potential cult hero at Goodison Park.

Southampton
Saints should strengthen further with added continental football to consider, and experienced Honda is just the kind of player who would fit Ronald Koeman’s profile.

Considering Dusan Tadic’s inconsistencies, Honda would have the chance to really secure a starting spot on the south coast, where Southampton are 11/4 for a top six finish.

Tottenham
Adept at pulling the strings in a possession-based team, Tottenham could also prove a good fit for Honda, who could add a deadly set piece threat to White Hart Lane.

Spurs are seeking a special player to support Harry Kane and would be able to offer at least a Europa League stage to Honda, whose skills, versatility and vision should suit Premier League life.

Wolfsburg
Should Die Wolfe lose playmaker Kevin De Bruyne this summer, Honda could be an ideal replacement, able to provide bundles goals and assists if he gets into his stride.

Should the Bundesliga surprise package retain their leading man, however, Honda could still complement the Belgian wonderfully and help Wolfsburg push for further cup glory.
