Coral’s rumour reel: Which club is back in for Bale?

Published:

At least one of this summer’s long-running sagas could be coming to a fruitful end over the weekend, as Manchester City (12/1 with Coral to lift the Champions League) appear to have finally convinced Wolfsburg to part with Kevin De Bruyne.

Die Wolfe sporing director Klaus Allofs informed press: “We will complete everything either tonight [Friday] or tomorrow [Saturday]. De Bruyne is off to Manchester City.”

Done and dusted? This transfer has had many twists and turns, and you can read Coral writers take on De Bruyne’s options here.

While one coveted star could be departing the Bundesliga, highly-regarded Juventus forward Kingsely Coman is being tipped to join Bayern Munich on a season-long loan. The French prodigy could cost the Allianz Arena outfit €7m for the upcoming campaign, with a €20m option to purchase permanently.

It is thought this switch might open up squad space and pave the way for Julian Draxler to arrive in Turin, though Arsenal and Manchester United are both said to still be eyeing the Schalke starlet.

Staying on the continent, PSG apparently covet Republic of Ireland right back Seamus Coleman. Though, Everton appear empowered after rejecting Chelsea’s advances for John Stones and are expected to give the Parisians short shrift, with even £50m thought to be too little to tempt the Toffees.

Speaking of Chelsea, the Blues seem to have moved on from their Stones fixation, with Jose Mourinho’s wandering eyes now locked on to Monaco centre half Aymen Abdennour, who could prove substantially cheaper.

Mercurial marksman Emmanuel Adebayor is still attracting attention from top clubs despite his Tottenham flop. Remarkably, the striker is reportedly of interest to Italian giants Lazio, though West Ham United could add a pinch of drama with a deadline day swoop for the Spurs outcast.

Elsewhere, free agent Kevin Nolan has already left Upton Park, and could see a kerfuffle erupt for his services between Championship club Cardiff City and Premier League stragglers Sunderland.

Last but not least, in more Manchester United gossip, the Mancunians could allow centre back Tyler Blackett to leave for Celtic, while also making one last-ditch attempt to land Gareth Bale.

The Red Devils (16/1 to win the Champions League) are rumoured to be ready to offer Real Madrid one last chance to grab David de Gea, by offering the stopper as a sweetener plus £65m for Welsh wizard Bale. We won’t hold our breath on this one!
