Bundesliga blockbuster as Bayern Munich host Bayer Leverkusen

Two giants of the German game clash as Bayern Munich host Bayer Leverkusen, with Pep Guardiola’s side odds-on at 1/3 with Coral to claim the three points.

Along with Borussia Dortmund, the two sides have an unblemished record this term and last season’s champions will be aiming to make it three wins in a row at home against Die Werkself, having secured a 1-0 victory in this fixture last term courtesy of a strike from Franck Ribery.

When Leverkusen played host, it was a different story, however. Roger Schmidt’s side completed a 2-0 win over Bayern, though they had already won the title. Goals from Hakan Calhanoglu and Julian Brandt on the day made it comfortable for the hosts, with the duo 3/1 and 7/2 respectively to net anytime. Both are off the mark in the Bundesliga this term and are credible threats for the visitors.

For Guardiola’s side, both Thomas Muller and Robert Lewandowski are the common denominators who have dispatched in both of Bayern’s victories this term. They are 7/2 and 3/1 respectively to break the deadlock and look raring to go this season.

New boy Douglas Costa has also had a great start to the campaign. He got off the mark in Bayern’s last home game; a 5-0 thumping of Hamburg, scoring the last goal and is nicely priced at 11/8 in the anytime market.

His coach Guardiola has been quick to sing his praises: “Douglas Costa is a quality player who is hard to find because of the way he can dribble. Any coach looks for such a player. He has only been here for a month but I think he will become one of the five best wingers in the world. Douglas can achieve great things.”

Leverkusen, though, have a threatening forward line and Bayern must be alert to counter-attacks. In Stefan Kiessling and Karim Bellarabi, they have a formidable force who can hit the back of the net with a moment’s notice. The duo are 9/1 and 12/1 respectively to open the scoring.

Coral’s top tip: Calhanoglu anytime scorer @ 3/1
