Torino must belie woeful Turin Derby record with Juve to reach Europe

Despite Juventus boasting a brilliant recent record against bitter local rivals Torino, as they are unbeaten in their previous 17 meetings, the Turin Derby (or Derby della Mole as it is known locally) is always a fierce and intriguing contest.
Juve have won 13 of those encounters, and the last seven – four of them being 1-0. They are odds-on favourites with Coral at 10/11 for victory again, and a more enticing 5/1 price by that same scoreline.
However, as they now boast a 15 point advantage at the top of Serie A with just seven games to go of the season, they have more important matters now on their minds after recently reaching the Champions league semis.
Hosts Torino, who are four games unbeaten in the league, therefore, are tempting 3/1 chances for their first win over Juve in just over 20 years. Their chances may be enhanced as Massimiliano Allegri is likely without midfield trio Claudio Marchisio, Paul Pogba and Kwadwo Asamoah.
But the Old Lady will be able to count on Serie A top scorer this season Carlos Tevez, who netted against The Bull last term. The Argentine attacker is odds-on at 10/11 to get a goal anytime, and 4/1 for two or more.
Superstars Andrea Pirlo and Arturo Vidal, meanwhile, were on target in the reverse fixture this campaign, which they won 2-1, and are respective 11/4 and 7/4 shouts in the anytime market.
It will be an interesting battle between Juve’s strikers and Torino’s defence for sure, especially as Bull captain and centre back Kamil Glik has been sent off twice in Turin Derbies before. The Pole will be keen to make amends for those dismissals, and is 29/10 to help his side to a clean sheet.
At the other end of the pitch, former Juve veterans Fabio Quagliarella and Carvalha Amauri will be looking to score against their old club. They are 15/8 and 10/3 in the anytime market.
Arguably the one superstar in the Bull’s ranks, though, is flying wing back Matteo Darmian. The Italy international has four goals this term, and is a decent 9/1 shout to find the net.
