Kentucky dominate March Madness basketball betting

As the NCAA college basketball regular season comes to a close this weekend, the Kentucky Wildcats maintain their position as undisputed betting favourites to win the 2015 national championship, at even-money in March Madness online betting at Coral.
After clinching the regular season title in the Atlantic Coast Conference almost two weeks ago, the Wildcats hit the court on Saturday in their regular season finale against Florida Gators, looking to remain the only undefeated team.
Kentucky have not lost since falling to Connecticut in last year’s national championship game, and currently boast a formidable 30-0 overall record, 17-0 in conference play.
While Kentucky look poised to become the first team since the 1976 Indiana Hoosiers to cap an undefeated season with a national championship, they have endured stretches this term where they have bitterly disappointed punters, including a dismal 3-8 ATS run in January and February.
But, the Wildcats appear to have righted the ship, going 5-1 ATS in their last six, posting each of the five ATS victories while pegged as heavy double-digit favourites.
The Wildcats’ closest competition in March Madness betting are Duke Blue Devils, with odds of 15/2.
Their status as second-favourites comes despite the Blue Devils trailing Virginia Cavaliers in the Atlantic Coast Conference standings. With a record of 14-3, Duke sit two games back of the Cavaliers going into their Saturday match-up with their hated rivals, North Carolina Tar Heels.
The Cavs meanwhile, are pegged at 8/1 in national championship betting at Coral. Virginia rides a nine-game SU winning streak into their final regular season match-up against Louisville Cardinals, and with a 16-1 record have already clinched their second consecutive ACC title.
However, like the Wildcats, Virginia have struggled to reward loyal punters, going 3-7-1 ATS in their last 11, 0-4-1 ATS in their last five as double-digit favourites.
The 15-2 Wisconsin Badgers, this year’s Big Ten regular season conference champs, follow next at 12/1.
While the Badgers have lost just three SU games all season, they’ve been a shaky bet of late, going 3-6 ATS in their last nine, and need a SU win over Ohio State Buckeyes this week to keep alive any hopes of a No. 1 seeding at the Big Dance.
Arizona Wildcats are next, deadlocked with Gonzaga Bulldogs at 14/1 in March Madness online betting.
The Wildcats claimed their second straight Pac-12 conference regular season title, and 14th in school history, with a 15-2 record, and appear bound for a No. 1 seed at March Madness, if they can avoid defeat in their regular season finale against Stanford Cardinal.
Arizona meets the Cardinal with 13 SU wins in their last 14, and a solid 11-3 ATS record.
The Bulldogs dominated the West Coast Conference this season, but had their perfect record in conference play spoiled by a 73-70 loss to BYU in their regular season finale last weekend, finishing at 17-1.
Despite their dominance of conference rivals, Gonzaga’s betting record this season has been streaky at best.
They failed to string together three straight ATS wins since crushing lightweight opponents in their opening three games, and going 7-12-1 ATS since when pegged as a double-digit favourite.
Other notable squads on the March Madness betting odds menu at Coral include the Tar Heels, who sit alongside Kansas Jayhawks and Notre Dame Fighting Irish at 25/1.
Four teams sit deadlocked at 40/1, including Louisville, Wichita State Shockers, Iowa State Cyclones and Utah Utes, while defending champions the Huskies sit at a distant 150/1.
