Aston Villa v Liverpool (Away win)
The Reds are enjoying a renaissance, having not lost any of their last seven games in all competitions, so could grab all three points at Villa Park, where they have triumphed on all of their past three visits. Brendan Rodgers will also be boosted by Daniel Sturridge’s return to training, with the prolific poacher waiting in the wings for a chance to test Villa’s defence.

Burnley v Crystal Palace (Draw)
Basement battlers Burnley and Crystal Palace have drawn 18 games between them across all competitions this campaign. These two struggling sides also split the spoils in their first encounter this season and have ended on even terms 17 times in a total of 40 clashes.

Leicester v Stoke(Home win)
The Foxes are finally back in form, winning three of their last four matches, while Stoke enter this encounter following a demoralising 3-0 drubbing at the hands of Arsenal. Duels between these two teams tend to be tight but Leicester have already beaten the Potters this term and will be backing themselves to do the same again.

QPR v Man Utd (Away win)
The Red Devils smashed Harry Redknapp’s Hoops 4-0 last time these sides met, and the QPR coach could be in hot water if United romp to another victory. The hosts have not beaten their Mancunian visitors in their past 16 attempts, a dismal run stretching back to 1992.

Swansea v Chelsea(Away win)
Jose Mourinho’s men have re-established their lead at the top of the table and will be feeling confident about sinking the Swans, who have just sold star player Wilfried Bony to Man City. Chelsea put four past Garry Monk’s team earlier this season with Diego Costa hitting a hat-trick. Now back in form, the Brazilian-born Spain striker will be aiming for a repeat performance.

Tottenham v Sunderland (Home win)
Even if ex-Spurs striker is signed and registered in time to figure for the Black Cats on his old stomping ground, the man of the moment is in-form Harry Kane. Tottenham to trounce Sunderland here.

Fulham v Reading (Away win)
These two former Premier League clubs are at the wrong end of the Championship but, as the Royals have recently had the better of their head-to-heads, back Reading for victory at Craven Cottage.

Leeds v Birmingham (Away win)
Gary Rowett has rejuvenated the Blues, while Neil Redfearn has no win in seven with the Elland Road outfit. Birmingham are on the up, and should make it another miserable afternoon for hosts Leeds.

Norwich v Cardiff (Home win)
As the Bluebirds have been less than impressive on their travels this term and new boss Alex Neil made an immediate impact with the Canaries by steering them to victory at table toppers Bournemouth, back Norwich for three home points here.

Wigan v Blackburn (Away win)
Rovers have a deadly strike-force, whereas their Lancashire rivals are desperately short in attack. Go with the tried and tested Jordan Rhodes and Rudy Gestede to get goals at the DW, and Blackburn to beat Wigan.

Newcastle v Southampton (Away win)
Following their impressive 1-0 win at Old Trafford last time out, Saints will be keen to follow this up with a win at St James’ Park; however, Newcastle lost away to Chelsea and in front of their home fans are sure to be fired up. Ronald Koeman’s side showed their resolve against Manchester United, though, and defended very well, so they could just sneak a win.

West Ham v Hull (Away win)
The Tigers won’t have a better chance to claw out of the bottom three all season. Sam Allardyce’s side had an exhaustive midweek cup clash against Everton and, despite the thrill of winning on penalties, they may well fatigue quickly against Hull. The Hammers are also without midfield enforcer Cheikhou Kouyate, who is at the Africa Cup of Nations, while top scorer Diafra Sakho is injured.

Man City v Arsenal (Away win)
A Gunners victory over City is a long time coming. The away side have something they haven’t had for a long time against their hosts; a genuine match winner in Alexis Sanchez, who can rival the likes of Sergio Aguero.

Deportivo La Coruna v Barcelona (Away win)
It may be a season of transition for Barca, but they are still only one point off La Liga leaders Real Madrid. Their hosts Deportivo are one point off the relegation zone, however, so Luis Enrique’s men should follow up their superb 3-1 league win over Atletico Madrid with three points at the Riazor.

Everton v West Brom (Draw)
This will be new Baggies boss Tony Pulis’ first major test. Having beaten Hull in his first Premier League match in charge, he now needs to follow that up with a result at under-achievers Everton, who need points desperately if they have any ambition of securing Europa League football for next term. However, having played 120 minutes in midweek, Pulis will have his side push them to the limit, so a draw could be the likeliest result.
