Phil ‘the Power’ Taylor a sumptuous 10/1 to win World Championship
Published:Everyone’s favourite festive sporting tournament, the PDC World Darts Championship, returns to our screens and the famous Ally Pally arena, so Coral are giving new customers the chance to win big with a fantastic offer.
We have dramatically enhanced tournament favourite Phil Taylor’s odds to win to 10/1 (maximum stake of £5), from 7/4 in the normal market.
Here is why this special is almost too good to be true.
Taylor is unquestionably the greatest darts player the world have ever seen, having gained over 200 professional tournament titles throughout his career that started in 1987, and The Power is still going strong.
The all-time great has won the World Championship an unmatched 16 times (two in the BDO and 14 in the PDC), with Eric Bristow and Raymond van Barneveld way down in joint-second on the list, with just five apiece.
Only two players other than Taylor have won this tournament, with a first-place prize of £250k, more than once – Adrian Lewis and John Part (with two each).
Despite his advancing age for a professional sportsman, Taylor’s competitive edge and focus is unmatched, and German unknown Jyhan Artut is his unfortunate first opponent in the first round this year.
The Power has faced 38-year-old Artut, who has only once got to the last 32 here, once before, back in 2012, where he saw him off 6-3. Taylor is heavily odds-on at 1/33 to defeat him again, and 13/5 to do so with a score of 3-1, or 1/2 for a 3-0 result.
On top of that, Taylor comes in to this tournament on the back of defending his Grand Slam of Darts title, which features players across the PDC and BDO organisations, again confirming he is still the best in the world.
The Stoke-born superstar will be hoping he can soon reclaim his number one status from Michael van Gerwen as well.
So get comfortable over the Christmas and New Year period, sign up with Coral and back Taylor to be champion of the world once more, with out-of-this-world odds.
