Kick-start the weekend with our top-five
League football across Europe may be wrapped up for the summer, but there’s a busier than normal Friday fixture list ahead, taking in International friendlies and the Irish Premier League. More than enough to give punters an interest.

Northern Ireland beat New Zealand
The first meeting of these sides, and we’re confident Norn Iron will pick up the desired result, and sharpen their tools for those upcoming World Cup qualifiers. The locals have been impressive of late, solid in defence and working hard for results. They sit five points behind Group C leaders Germany, but have won each of their last two, beating Azerbaijan and Norway, both to nil. Confidence is high, and they are picked at a useful 6/10 to get the better of an unconvincing opponent.
France beat Paraguay
France blow hot and cold at times, granted, but they are looking red-hot at the minute. Top of Group A, three points better than nearest rivals Sweden, they appear to have already booked their place in Russia. Les Bleus have won each of their last four World Cup qualifiers, scoring 10 goals in the process. That run includes victory over Holland, and punters can take heart from the fact they’ve never lost to Paraguay. That proud stat should continue, with France trusted to do the business at 1/4.
Cork beat Dundalk
Cork City go to Dundalk in the Irish Premier League, and we’re confident they will return with all three points. The betting has this as a 50/50, and on paper it appears to be, with second hosting first in the league. Cork are well out in front however, 15 points clear of Friday’s opponents, knowing victory here would all but end the challenge. A Dundalk win would make things interesting, but I don’t see it. 13/8 about the league leaders is very fair.
Bray beat Limerick
Third-place Bray will be keen to pile the pressure on Dundalk, and take advantage of any slip. With the top two in the division facing off, it’s up to Bray in third to take their chance to close the gap, and the right set of results here would move them to within touching distance of second. Midtable Limerick are stuck on a poor run of form, finding wins hard to come by at the minute. The stats point to an away day at a very generous 19/10.
Derry beat Galway
Lastly, Derry are taken to round us off when welcoming Galway United to town. Coral traders have the home win marked at 6/10, making it a convincing favourite, and we have to agree with them there. Derry have put together an impressive run of form over the last few weeks, and are very much in the mix for a top-four finish. Galway are stuck down at the other end of the table, and looking increasing difficult to trust.
