The Red Group comes to a conclusion on day five of the WTA Finals in Singapore with women’s tennis world number one Angelique Kerber in pole position to top the pool.
America’s Madison Keys stands between the dual hard court Grand Slam champion and a perfect three wins, but the German has a brilliant record against this opponent.
Simona Halep remains a consistent WTA Tour performer, and should feel confident of joining Kerber in the semi-finals as she faces winless Dominika Cibulkova.

Kerber v Keys odds favour German
Eyes are immediately drawn to the fact Kerber has won all four previous hard surface clashes with Keys in straight sets, including in the semi-final of the Olympics women’s singles in Rio de Janeiro earlier this season.
That makes the 6/4 available among Kerber v Keys odds for the Australian and US Open winner to record another 2-0 result sweet indeed.
Kerber has also taken the opening set of both meetings this year 6-3, and the same scoreline again thus appeals at an awesome 11/2.
Halep to come through Cibulkova clash
Romania’s top tennis export Halep has never beaten fellow Eastern European player Cibulkova on a hard court, but the wretched current form of the Slovakian is a big indicator that this could well change.
Cibulkova did push Kerber into a deciding set, but looks like going down fighting. Halep is a handy price at 11/4 to win 2-1 and equal the career head-to-head record at three wins apiece.
Another punt that may appeal here is under 8.5 games in the opener at 7/4. Halep, admittedly on clay, drew first blood 6-2 when last facing Cibulkova, and the Slovakian went down 6-1 in her straight sets loss to Keys when previously seen in action in Singapore.
