2016 WTA Finals semis tips

We’re down to the final four of the WTA Finals in Singapore, with women’s tennis world number one Angelique Kerber the 6/5 favourite with Coral to add this end-of-season tournament to her honours.

The German plays defending champion Agnieszka Radwanska (5/2) after respective 9/2 event outsiders Dominika Cibulkova and Svetlana Kuznetsova have met.

Rewarding Kerber v Radwanska odds

Although top seed Kerber trails here career head-to-head with Polish player Radwanska 5-6, she is 5-4 up on hard court meetings and 2-0 from previous encounters at this event and in Grand Slam.

Odds-on at 4/7 to dump defending champ Radwanska out, there is better value to back Kerber coming through this contest in three sets at 11/4.

Three of Kerber’s hard surfaces wins have come by a 2-1 scoreline, also leaving over 2.5 sets in the match at 5/4 worth a punt here as well.

Curiously, Kerber has often taken the second set 6-4 previously, so a flutter on the 5/1 that says this will be the result again is not without merit.

Cibulkova a shout in three sets too

In the absence of suspended Maria Sharapova, top Russian racket star Kuznetsova last beat Slovakia’s Cibulkova in 2008.

That losing run of five successive matches, including the last three on the same hard courts this Singapore event is played on means Kuznetsova is one to swerve.

As the last two encounters have gone the distance, back Cibuklova for a 2-1 victory at a terrific 3/1 price.

Kuznestova could well draw first blood at 10/11 to take the opener, having done so in the last two encounters and in all but one of her group games at the WTA Finals.
