Let’s start the season with a bang

A warm welcome to a busy Saturday fixture list, and Coral punters have matches to get through from the Championship and below in England, as well as all major divisions in Scotland. What better way to mark the return of domestic football than with a winning accumulator?

Our football team have run through the week one matches of note, and return with our Saturday acca. It’s a bet worth shouting about too, currently trading at 137/1. Click here to place your football bets, or read on as we run through each of the six selections.

Cardiff beat Burton

Cardiff warmed up with a 4-0 win over Scottish side Livingston in pre-season, and fans are excited about the year ahead. The Bluebirds underperformed last season, finishing down in 12th, but manager Neil Warnock has put together an impressive side over the summer break and the Welsh reps are picked to get off on the winning foot. Our 29/20 looks a great way to start things off.

Middlesbrough beat Wolves

Boro endured a nightmare season in the Premier League, suffering the agony of relegation, but they had no one to blame but themselves. They duck back down into the Championship and will aim to learn their lesson and return at the first time of asking. The board have invested heavily in the playing squad, and they’re expected to push hard for the title. 19/10 to beat Burton deserves our respect.

Scunthorpe beat AFC Wimbledon

Dropping into League One and The Iron should know enough to bank a maximum pay-out when welcoming AFC Wimbledon to Glanford Park. The selections won 2-1 when meeting The Wombles this time last year, Hooper and Morris on the scoresheet. Let’s have a repeat performance at 4/5.

Blackburn beat Southend

This will be the first meeting of these sides since 1992, when the pair met in the old division two. Rovers continue to slip down the ranks of English football, and were relegated from the Championship thanks to a 22nd place finish. Tony Mowbray will need every bit of his experience to stop the slump. We give them the benefit of the doubt at a handy 6/4.

Hibs beat Partick

Hibs are back in the Scottish top division, and manager Neil Lennon will want to announce his arrival with a convincing home win over a side that finished in the top-six last season. Thistle are capable enough, but they go to Edinburgh on an emotional afternoon, and should get caught up in the occasion. With a bumper support onside, Hibs to get the result at 5/6.

Morton beat Dumbarton

Neither side impressed in the League Cup group stages played out during the summer. Morton were much the better side in that competition, finishing second behind Motherwell, and they battled to a play-off spot in the Championship last season. A tight afternoon expected, but we’ll go away win at 27/20. That’s bigger than they should be.
