There are daily meetings in the UK with Hove, Romford and Monmore some of the most popular greyhound betting venues, while you can also bet on the action in Ireland and Australia. With the races coming thick and fast there are always plenty of greyhound racing odds to pick from.
Greyhound odds
When it comes to greyhound betting with Coral, study the form and the greyhound odds for the six dogs in each race and decide on your winner in an attempt to land a gamble.
However, it is not just the outcome of the race that you can bet on.
As well as race winner, you can also back a dog each-way in every race, where Coral will pay out at a quarter of the odds on the second-placed finisher.
A popular option in greyhound racing betting is to place a forecast where you pick the first two home in a race. If you are feeling confident, you can pick the dogs to finish first and second in the correct order to boost the greyhound racing odds, but if you want to hedge your bets, you can place a combination forecast where your selections can finish first or second in any order.
If you want to add a third dog, then the same as above applies and that is called a tricast or a combination tricast for finishing one-two-three in any order.
Similar to a forecast/tricast is the top two or top three option, where you can pick a dog to finish in the top two or top three of a race. This will obviously offer reduced odds than if betting in the race win market, but adds that extra layer or protection that could ensure a return.
Other ways to bet on greyhound racing include the odds v evens market where you take a 50/50 chance on the winner coming from an odd or even trap number and the inside v outside traps market, where as the name suggests you bet on the winner coming from an inside or outside draw.
There is also place insurance which is choosing your winner from the greyhound betting list, but accepting reduced odds in case they were to finish second or third. The good news though is if they don’t win, and do finish second or third, you get your stake back.
Finally, if you think a dog might not win, but could finish second or third, then you can bet on a podium finish for your favourite. With greyhound racing betting the options really are endless.
Greyhound Derby Betting
The Greyhound Derby is the most prestigious race on the British greyhound racing calendar, with a history stretching back to 1927.
The Greyhound Derby is a 500 metres dash that now takes place at Towcester each year, but the event as a whole is more of a marathon than a sprint.
192 dogs will set out on their quest to become Greyhound Derby champion in May, but it won’t be until the end of June that the final will take place between the best six greyhounds around.
Each week those 192 dogs will be eliminated in weekly heats before the quarter-finals, semi-finals and then finals night, when thousands of greyhound enthusiasts will flock to Northamptonshire for the main event.

Trap Challenge odds
One of the most enjoyable ways to bet on greyhound racing is take on the test of the trap challenge.
The trap challenge is where you decide which trap will have the most winners throughout the meeting. So, if you bet on trap one in the trap challenge and more dogs from that trap win races than any other, you will be a winner in our trap challenge odds.
Maybe you have studied the form and the draw beforehand and think the fastest dogs are located in a certain trap? Or maybe you know a certain track favours dogs drawn low? Or you could simply just take a guess on one to six and hope to strike lucky?
If you are feeling adventurous you could combine two tracks and back the same trap to come out on top at each venue.
