Zlatan on the move? Five clubs for PSG superstar Ibrahimovic

According to reports from Italy, Sweden sharpshooter Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be primed to move on from Ligue 1 giants PSG this summer, and with just one year left on his contract could be available for a smashing cut price fee of £11m.

Always good for a quote and a sensational strike, the prolific superstar, who has taken his talents to the likes of AC Milan, Barcelona, Inter Milan and Juventus, would surely relish one last big move. Here are five clubs we came up with…

AC Milan
With a new manager in Sinisa Mihajlovic and ownership changes also taking place, Milan have a unique opportunity to start from scratch, as the fallen giants look to claw their way back to the top table. A marquee signing like this would be a huge statement of intent.

They say never go back, but Ibrahimovic always seems to return to Italy, where he excelled, winning four Scudetti titles plus two revoked, and may fancy finishing his career at the San Siro, a stadium he knows so well.

Arsenal
The Gunners (5/1 to win the Premier League in 2015/16) have emerged as surprise contenders for the giant Swede’s signature, with Arsene Wenger having a long standing interest in the striker since before he joined Ajax.

Speaking of being asked to take part in a trial at Arsenal, Ibrahimovic famously said: “Today, Wenger says it was a misunderstanding. But I didn’t like being asked to prove myself. I know I’m good enough. I don’t need to show it to you. Either you know who I am or you don’t.”

Wenger will certainly know how superb the serial winner is now and could lure him to London to compete with Olivier Giroud as the Gunners tilt at a title challenge.

Borussia Dortmund
Despite stints in Spain and Italy, Ibrahimovic is yet to test his talent in the Bundesliga and could always opt for a challenge over a big payday. Helping Dortmund return to the summit of German football would certainly be one, and the chance for Ibrahimovic to crash former boss Pep Guardiola’s party at Bayern Munich.

Dortmund still require a true replacement for Polish poacher Robert Lewandowski and Ibrahimovic’s mix of power, ingenuity and technique would certainly fit the bill, though wages could be a stumbling block.

Chelsea
Blues boss Jose Mourinho enjoyed a fruitful relationship with Ibrahimovic when the controversial pair’s paths crossed for a season at Inter. Expected to clash, striker and coach were instead two peas in a pod, and with Chelsea potentially seeking an experienced striker replacement for Didier Drogba as back-up for Diego Costa, a move to Stamford Bridge makes sense.

Manchester United
Liverpool have been linked to the striker but the Reds cannot offer Champions League football, the major club trophy Ibrahimovic has unluckily failed to capture so far.

Of all English clubs, unpredictable anti-hero Ibrahimovic best fits the profile of Man Utd (also 5/1 to lift the 2015/16 Premier League) who look set to cut loose several strikers this summer as they prepare for a return to European football.

Old Trafford is known for embracing players with attitude, and the combination of abrupt Louis van Gaal and Ibrahimovic could just as easily cause fireworks, or collect silverware.
