York tips for Saturday: Tatlisu ready to cut a Dash

Tatlisu weighted to go well in big sprint handicap
Tatlisu has dropped to a handy mark and looks decent each-way value in a typically wide open and fierce renewal of the 6f Sky Bet Dash at York (16.10).
The Richard Fahey trained gelding has some very useful form to his name in ultra-competitive handicaps and was last successful when beating George Bowen by a head in the 25-runner Ayr Silver Cup last September off a mark of 97.
Tatlisu went on to round off 2015 with a solid fourth of 19 to Shared Equity over course and distance off 103 and is now able to race in this off a reduced rating of 96.
That is 1lb lower when last victorious and gives the six-year-old major claims from a handicapping perspective on the pick of his form.
Although not at his best last time out when outpaced early before keeping on late to finish eight of 14 in the Scottish Sewards’ Cup at Hamilton, Tatlisu had previously shaped really on seasonal reappearance well when doing all his best work at the finish to be beaten 2 1/2 lengths into fourth behind Hoof It at Haydock.
With those runs under his belt the son of Red Clubs should now be spot on to do himself justice and Fahey is the master at getting horses at their peak for big pots like this.
Farlow has plenty in his favour
Fahey also looks to have major claims of landing the 7f handicap on the card (15.00) with Farlow.
The eight-year-old manged to win just once last season, when landing a 16-runner contest at Doncaster off a mark of 97, but did run some really solid races in defeat.
They include when fourth of 19 to stable companion Rene Mathis at Glorious Goodwood off a rating off 101, and Farlow is now able to race off 1lb lower.
That gives the veteran a big shout at the weights and he comes into the contest on the back of an eye-catching run when sixth of 16 to Golden Steps in the Bunbury Cup at Newmarket.
After being held-up well off the pace, Farlow made headway under pressure a furlong from home and stayed on strongly to be nearest at the finish and beaten just 1 3/4 lengths.
It was an effort which suggested his time was near and this looks less competitive.
Another plus is that Farlow is a dual winner over course and distance, and with Paul Hanagan in the saddle everything looks in place for a huge run.
