Silent Assassin has a big shout at Yarmouth
Silent Assassin can cash-in on what looks a lenient handicap mark to land the 6f nursery on today’s card at Yarmouth (15:15).
The Ed Walker trained colt shaped with plenty of promise on debut when runner-up to subsequent Group 2 winner Tis Marvellous at Windsor, after getting loose in the paddock beforehand.
Although no match for the easy eight-length winner, Silent Assassin showed plenty of pace to chase the leader and stuck to the task well.
The two-year-old them showed the benefit of that experience to open his account at Thirsk last month when staying on strongly to beat Humbert by a head.
Humbert has since come out and finished a fine sixth of 30 to Orewa in a valuable class 1 sales race at The Curragh to give the form a strong look.
It suggests and opening mark of 76 may underestimate Silent Assassin’s ability, especially as he looks the type who should have plenty more to offer.

Valley Of Fire fancied to follow-up

Trained by the in-form William Haggas, the four-year-old ended a long losing run when getting up close home to beat Ballymore Castle by a short-head in an 11-runner contest at Haydock.
Valley Of Fire scored with more in hand than the winning margin suggests, as he idled when hitting the front under a hands and heels ride from David Allan.
The fourth home He’s No Saint has also come out and won since to give the form a boost and this arguably a less competitive affair.
Valley Of Fire now has to race off 3lb higher, but a revised rating of 86 still looks very exploitable given that he has been rated as high as 96 in the past.
