Aston Villa v Swansea – Home win
Tim Sherwood’s Villans are continuing to defy the odds and move further away from relegation. They face a Welsh side that are on a poor Premier League run and could capitalise to snatch a narrow victory.

Newcastle v Arsenal – Away win
The Gunners have won the previous six meetings between these sides and should continue that dominant record as they close the gap on Manchester City in second place. Arsenal already thumped the Magpies 4-1 earlier this season and a similar scoreline could be on the cards this time out.

Stoke v Crystal Palace – Draw
Mark Hughes’ Potters have enjoyed a successful domestic run recently, despite being toppled by West Bromwich Albion last time out. The visitors are still on the edge of a relegation battle, while Stoke have climbed to an impressive eighth spot, so expect a tight game at the Britannia Stadium.

Tottenham v Leicester – Home win
Spurs have slipped up in recent weeks during the fight for a Champions League spot, while the Foxes are haplessly struggling at rock-bottom of the table. Despite a blip in previous games, Tottenham should have no hassle in dealing with their faltering opponents.

Blackburn v Brighton – Draw
The last two meetings between these Championship sides have ended in a draw. Expect another stalemate this time out with the hosts too far behind in the table to claim a play-off place and Brighton seemingly likely to have secured their safety.

Norwich v Nottingham Forest – Home win
Both sides are in decent form going into this crunch Championship clash, but Norwich are on the charge in their fight for promotion so back them to edge this match.

Watford v Ipswich – Home win
This is a game of first versus seventh, but table-toppers Watford should have just enough to see off Mick McCarthy’s Ipswich, who have won just one of their last five fixtures in the league, losing three.

Wigan v Bolton – Draw
The Latics still sit in the relegation zone, but have caught up in recent weeks, getting three wins in their last five. Bolton, meanwhile, have just one victory in their previous four, so back a draw.

West Ham v Sunderland – Draw
Sunderland are a team totally lacking in any confidence, losing three of their last six in the top flight, winning none, resulting in the sacking of Gus Poyet. The Hammers, though, have the same recent record, and the appointment of Dick Advocaat could inspire the Black Cats to get at least a point.

Hibernian v Rangers – Home win
Rangers have drawn each of their last five league games, while Hibs have won their previous five, so back the hosts to further widen the gap on Glasgow giants Gers.

Liverpool v Manchester United – Away win
United put in one of their best performances of the season when they smashed three past their Reds rivals, and arrive at Anfield after sensationally dismantling Spurs. With Wayne Rooney back up top and fellow former Evertonian Marouane Fellaini in fine form, the Red Devils will be raring to go.

QPR v Everton – Away win
The Toffees have schooled QPR on their own turf already this term and have not lost to the hapless Hoops in any of their last four duels. Roberto Martinez’s men have scored seven in their past two outings against the London club and will be aiming for goals galore again.

Villarreal v Sevilla – Away win
Visiting Sevilla have sunk the Yellow Submarine twice already this season, and will know their opponents inside out after playing them midweek in the Europa League. The brilliant Bathtubs have also lost just one of their last nine battles with Villarreal.

Barcelona v Real Madrid – Home win
Lionel Messi was at his devastating best as Barca knocked Manchester City out of Europe, and will be relishing the thought of starring in El Clasico. Unbeaten in six across all competitions, the Catalan club can take advantage of Real’s current rearguard vulnerability.

Dundee v Aberdeen – Draw
The Dons have won just one of their last four away outings, while their hosts have an excellent recent record at Dens Park. Dundee have 12 points from a possible 18 in their past six home games and the Dark Blues also held Aberdeen to a draw in their last duel.
