Wimbledon men’s third round: Murray and Ward fly flag on day 6

Great Britain’s two home hopes in the Wimbledon 2015 men’s singles draw, Andy Murray and James Ward, play again on Saturday, July 4th in the last 32.
Coral make 2013 winner Murray 2/1 (from 9/4) for a second grass Grand Slam triumph following Rafael Nadal’s sensational second round exit from the All-England club to qualifier Dustin Brown. Ward, meanwhile, is a 750/1 rank outsider, but is now guaranteed to be among the ATP’s top 100 pros come what may.
Murray meets Italy’s Andreas Seppi, who he has a superb record against, and Ward also holds claims of advancing to the last 16 from his fixture with Vasek Pospisil of Canada.
Top British tennis pro Murray holds a handsome 6-1 head-to-head advantage over Seppi, thought that one loss came on grass. Punters can discount that, however, as it way back in 2006 when he was still a teenager.
Murray is now at the peak of his powers and seen his potential path to the final made easier by Nadal’s exit, though, so he’s massively odds-on at 1/25 to triumph again here. He recorded a straight sets with over Seppi at Queen’s 2009, and a repeat of that result here is better at 4/11.
As Seppi struggled against Croatian teenager Borna Coric, coming from 1-0 and 2-1 down to win in five sets, there’s no case for him posing third seed Murray problems, hence his massive 9/1 outside match price.
Until his second round victory over Jiri Vesely, British number three Ward had only ever beaten one ATP top 50 player. He will be brimming full of confidence following that four-set triumph, and looks outstanding at 13/8 to punish Pospisil in similar fashion.
Ward has won the only previous meeting between the pair in straight sets, so that is also tempting at a superb 7/1, but a third victory on the spin in four sets is also awesome value at 11/2.
