Preview and odds for the Premier League clash

Everton are close to entering the last-chance saloon as far as their Europa League aspirations go whereas West Ham’s eyes are firmly on qualifying for the Champions League as they clash on Sunday in the Premier League.

As both teams analyse their remaining games their meeting brings into sharp contrast how their fortunes have varied during a campaign that has seen the Hammers transform under David Moyes from basement battlers to European contenders.

Carlo Ancelotti’s Toffees, though, have slipped from early-season pacesetters to outsiders for continental competition next season.

The Hammers are 27/20 for London Stadium honours while the visitors go into the game at 21/10.

Sunday’s game kicks off at 4.30pm and is live on Sky Sports, and here is our form guide to help with West Ham v Everton betting tips.

West Ham v Everton match odds

There is something riding on the result for both teams so a draw is an option at 12/5.

With the likes of Michail Antonio and the in-form Jesse Lingard in the West Ham line-up and Everton boasting the talents of free-scoring England forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin, the goals market is likely to attract attention, with over 2.5 goals priced at 17/20.

West Ham won the previous meeting 1-0 with a goal from Czech midfielder Tomas Soucek and a repeat of that scoreline in the Hammers’ favour is priced at 15/2 this time around. Everton prevailing by the same score is 9/1.

West Ham v Everton head-to-head

You have to go back to the 2016-17 season to find the last goalless draw between the two teams in the Premier League.

In fact the last two times the teams met without scoring came in the two matches in that same season. A first goalless draw for four years would return at odds of 10/1.

Soucek has been an important source of goals for West Ham this season, including his late winner at Goodison Park on New Year’s Day. The Czech international is 14/5 to be on target again and 15/2 to open the scoring.

Everton have won three of their last five meetings with West Ham but in order to add to that tally they may well need Calvert-Lewin to find the target and he is 7/5 to do that.

Previous XI

Everton: Pickford, Holgate, Digne, Godfrey, Coleman, Allan, Sigurdsson, Iwobi, Gomes, Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin.

Team news

Hammers midfielder Declan Rice is back in training after five weeks out with a knee injury and could return. Angelo Ogbonna, Arthur Masuaku and Mark Noble are still injury doubts.

Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure returns after missing eight matches with a fractured bone in his foot but James Rodriguez is unavailable because of a calf problem.

Key battles

The power of Soucek driving West Ham forward will take a lot to halt and it will be down to Everton’s Andre Gomes to keep him in check.

Mason Holgate and Ben Godfrey face having to stop the force of nature that is Antonio and the experienced Craig Dawson in the Hammers defence must face up to Calvert-Lewin.
