Reel reigns supreme in King George
Highland Reel made all of the running to claim victory in the Group 1 King George VI And Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot under a masterful ride from Ryan Moore.
The Aidan O’Brien trained four-year-old put several lengths between himself and his rivals down the back straight and kicked again rounding the home turn to comfortably fend of Wings Of Desire by 1 1/4 lengths.
Highland Reel gave O’Brien his fourth win in the showpiece contest and has now tasted Group in success in three continents having previously triumphed in Asia and North America.
Eva dazzles in Princess Of Margaret Stakes
Fair Eva kept her unbeaten record intact with an awesome display in the Princess Margaret Juddmonte Stakes at Ascot and is now new favourite with Coral for next year’s 1,000 Guineas.
The Roger Charlton trained daughter of the mighty Frankel took the step up into Group 3 company in her stride, travelling strongly in the hands of Frankie Dettori in midfield before cruising into contention and quickening clear inside the final furlong to score easily by four lengths.
Time Test eased for Juddmonte after workmanalike success at York
Time Test’s odds have been eased with Coral for next month’s Juddmonte Intentional Stakes at York following a wormanlike success in the Group 2 York Stakes at York.
Robert Charlton’s four-year-old, who was sent off the odds-on favourite, cruised into contention and looked set to win easily but found less than expected when push came to shove and was made to dig deep to beat Mondialiste by 3/4 of a length.
