We chart Man Utd’s tumbling title odds against the rising fortunes of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Published:
Manchester United go into their huge Premier League fixture with rivals Liverpool this week at 5/1 in the Premier League outright market to win the trophy.
Manchester United’s performances and rise through the league has seen their odds shorten drastically, while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s once precarious position has become increasingly secure.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have been on an incredible run of form since early December and we’ve shown on the graph below how their odds have collapsed from 40/1 in October to their latest odds of 5/1 to win the title.
Equally, Solsjkaer has seen his odds change considerably over the last few months in the next Premier League manager to leave betting. He was the odds-on favourite at 5/6 in this market on the 5th November but is now out to 33/1.

“Manchester United have been on an incredible run over the last few months with Ole at the wheel. The betting suggested their title aspirations were as good as over back in October, however, after nine wins from 11 matches, United top the table going into their huge clash with Liverpool this weekend, and are well in the mix in the outright market,” said Coral’s John Hill.
“It is also fascinating to see how close Ole must have been to losing his job earlier this season. He was odds-on to be the next Premier League manager to leave their post just a couple of months ago. Any talk of the United boss being sacked now have long disappeared,” added Hill.
Manchester United are 27/10 with our traders to continue their excellent run of form this weekend at Anfield by beating Liverpool. The hosts are the Evens favourites, while the draw is 27/10.
