Our traders have made Wayne Rooney their Evens favourite to be appointed the next permanent Derby County manager following the departure of Phillip Cocu.
Rafael Benitez is next in the betting at 11/4, Steve Cooper is 6/1, while John Terry can be backed at 9/1.
“Wayne Rooney has made no secret about his desire to go into management once his playing career is over. Our betting suggests that may come sooner than expected as he is the clear favourite to take over from Phillip Cocu at Derby,” said Coral’s John Hill.
“Rafael Benitez has managed some of the biggest clubs in the world and is also prominent in the betting in what would be a huge coup for Derby if they were to secure the Spaniard’s services,” added Hill.
